Improved survival for dose-intensive chemotherapy in primary mediastinal B-cell lymphoma: a systematic review and meta-analysis of 4068 patients
Haematologica. 2023 Aug 31. doi: 10.3324/haematol.2023.283446. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTPrimary mediastinal B-cell lymphoma (PMBCL) is a distinct clinicopathologic entity. Currently, there is a paucity of randomized prospective data to inform on optimal frontline chemoimmunotherapy (CIT) and use of consolidative mediastinal radiation (RT). To assess if distinct CIT approaches are associated with disparate survival outcomes, we performed a systematic review and meta-analysis comparing dose-intensive (DI-CIT) versus standard CIT for the frontline treatment of PMBCL. Standard approach (S-CIT) was defined as R-CHOP-21/CHO...

Sustained response following BTK inhibitors based treatment in HIV-related primary central nervous system lymphoma: case report
CONCLUSIONS: This report highlights the safety and effectiveness of BTK inhibitors, as well as lenalidomide and PD-1 inhibitor in HIV-related PCNSL patients. Both the new therapeutic approaches and a multidisciplinary team authentically contributed to improved survival outcome among HIV-positive PCNSL patients.PMID:37644480 | PMC:PMC10466696 | DOI:10.1186/s12981-023-00554-8

Hepatitis B virus-related cryoglobulinemia: Clinical characteristics, virological features, and treatment
CONCLUSIONS: HBV-related cryoglobulinemia patients should be treated with antiviral therapy. Corticosteroids and rituximab are effective for severe cases, but patients need to be closely monitored for therapy-related infection.PMID:37640269 | DOI:10.1016/j.virusres.2023.199212
