Prognosis for sixth nerve palsy arising from paranasal sinus disease.
CONCLUSION: Paranasal sinus pathology is a rare cause of CNVI palsy. A number of factors may help to predict prognosis in these patients. Masses compressing, but not destroying or invading, the cavernous sinus had optimal posttreatment outcomes with full resolution occurring as early as 2 weeks. Destructive lesions that invaded CNVI and its vasculature, i.e., invasive fungus, were negative indicators for recovery. Knowledge of factors that affect recovery can help clinicians predict disease course and prognosis for resolution of the defect. PMID: 24119609 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Nasal cytological changes as late effects of radiotherapy for nasopharyngeal cancer.
CONCLUSION: Radiation therapy induces late nasal mucosal changes, which may be related to clinical consequences, such as abundant mucus production and its consequent endonasal stagnation. In the future, detailed knowledge of cytological changes in patients' nasal mucosa could represent a key prerequisite for the choice of effective interventions for late radiation-induced rhinitis. Surgery as Single-Modality Treatment for Early-Stage Olfactory Neuroblastoma: An Institutional Experience, Systematic Review and Meta-analysis.
CONCLUSIONS: Surgery alone is an equivalent alternative to combined treatment in carefully selected low-risk ONB patients with better outcome measures than previously reported. PMID: 33174762 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Sinonasal Acinic Cell Carcinoma: A Review of the National Cancer Database
CONCLUSION: Sinonasal ACC is a rare entity with relatively good long-term outcomes. Older age and primary disease of the sphenoid sinus are associated with worse outcomes. Most patients are treated with surgical resection. Future research is needed to assess the optimal timing and indications for radiation therapy.PMID:35702005 | DOI:10.1177/19458924221107206

Nasal Cavity Squamous Cell Carcinoma: Factors Associated With Treatment Outcomes and Potential Organ Preservation
CONCLUSIONS: NCSCC appears to be best treated with surgery followed by adjuvant RT in advanced-stage disease whereas in early-stage disease, surgery does not improve OS compared to definitive RT.PMID:36189818 | DOI:10.1177/19458924221130133

Evaluation of Molecular-level Changes of Programmed Cell Death Ligand-1 after Radiation Therapy in a BALB/c CT26 Colorectal Mouse Tumor Model
In this study, female BALB/c mice inoculated with CT26 tumor cells were irradiated with 3 different RT regimens using the same BED of 40 gray (Gy). These included ablative RT (1*15 Gy), hypo-fractionated RT (2*10 Gy), and conventional (Hyper-fractionated) RT (10*3 Gy). PD-L1 expression was analyzed with immunohistochemical staining on days 2 and 20 and when the size of tumors had reached 2 cm2 after RT. All treated groups expressed PD-L1, but the group receiving single ablative high-dose RT showed higher expression compared to the other groups. No significant differences in PD-L1 expression were observed at different times...
