The prevalence and characteristics of food allergy in urban minority children.
CONCLUSION: This is the largest study of food allergy prevalence in an urban minority pediatric population, and 3.4% had physician-documented food allergy. Significantly more blacks were affected than children of other races. Fewer than half of food-allergic children in this population had confirmatory testing or evaluation by an allergy specialist. Antibiotic Prescribing Practices Differ between Patients with Penicillin Intolerance and Penicillin Allergy Labels
Conclusions: This study supports that prescribing practices differ between patients with penicillin allergy labels and intolerance labels. The impact of a drug allergy label in an internal medicine ward
Conclusions. In this study, a considerable number of patients had a drug allergy label on their records. This label contributed to an increase in the cost of treatment, or the avoidance of necessary exams. However, disregarding an allergy record may lead to potentially life-threatening reactions that proper risk assessment could avoid. Further investigation should always be part of the follow-up routine of these patients, and better articulation between departments should be encouraged.PMID:36975723 | DOI:10.23822/EurAnnACI.1764-1489.293
