Factors that impact on recruitment to vaccine trials in the context of a pandemic or epidemic: a qualitative evidence synthesis
CONCLUSIONS: This review identifies many of the factors that influence a person's decision to take part in a vaccine trial, and these reflect findings from reviews that examine trials more broadly. However, we also recognise some factors that become more important in connection with a vaccine trial in the context of a pandemic or epidemic. These factors include the potential stigma of taking part, the possible adverse effects of a vaccine, the added motivation for helping society, the role of community leaders in trial dissemination, and the level of trust placed in governments and companies developing vaccines. These spec...

Persistent Shoulder Pain After Vaccine Administration Is Associated with Common Incidental Pathology: A Systematic Review
CONCLUSION: The observation that persistent shoulder pain after vaccination overlaps with common shoulder pathology-both in large databases as well as in more detailed reports of specific patients as analyzed in this review-establishes a high probability of a coincidental rather than a causal association. In the absence of high-quality experimental evidence of vaccine-specific shoulder pathology, in our opinion, it seems safest and healthiest to assume that perceived shoulder injury related to vaccine administration (SIRVA) is due to misinterpretation of new symptoms from established pathology rather than a new, vaccine-sp...

Proteomic profile of echinococcus granulosus: a systematic review
This study aimed to develop a synthesis of the evidence available related to proteomics of E. granulosus. A systematic review was carried out to collect data concerning the proteomics of E. granulosus, without language or host restriction, published between 1980 and 2019. A systematic search was carried out in the Trip Database, BIREME-BVS, SciELO, Web of Science, PubMed, EMBASE, SCOPUS, EBSCO host, and LILACS, using MeSH terms, free words, and Boolean connectors, and adapting strategies to each source of information. Additionally, a manual cross-reference search was performed. Variables studied were the year of publicatio...

Therapeutics for treating mpox in humans
CONCLUSIONS: Randomized controlled trials review This review found no evidence from randomized controlled trials concerning the efficacy and safety of therapeutics in humans with mpox. Non-randomized studies review Very low-certainty evidence from non-randomized studies indicates no serious safety signals emerging for the use of tecovirimat in people with mpox infection. In contrast, very low-certainty evidence raises a safety signal that brincidofovir may cause liver injury. This is also suggested by indirect evidence from brincidofovir use in smallpox. This warrants further investigation and monitoring. This Cochrane Rev...
