A structural equation model analysis of the relationship between expectant fathers' fear of COVID-19 and their fear of childbirth: The mediating role of maternal fear of childbirth
CONCLUSIONS: We found a high prevalence of severe fear of childbirth in Iranian expectant fathers which means that fathers' fear of childbirth is a national health concern that needs to be addressed. The findings of the present study indicate that mothers' fear of childbirth has a mediating role in the relationship between fathers' fear of COVID and fear of childbirth. The impact of fathers' mental health on the fear of childbirth in expectant couples sho...

Risk of Pesticides Mixtures in Rice to Birds and Humans in Iran
This study investigated the residues of 14 organophosphate insecticides and 2 herbicides in rice cultivated at five locations in the southwest of Iran. The pesticide residues were then used to estimate the risk that they may pose to the health of bird and human consumers. The rice samples from the five locations contained residues from 10 to 13 pesticides. Of the 16 pesticides measured, the mean concentration of 12 pesticides exceeded the maximum residue limit set by the Iranian National Standards Organization at two or more of the sampling sites. The greatest total exceedance (sum of all pesticides detected in rice) of th...

Antigen-Based Diagnosis of Human Giardiasis: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
CONCLUSION: The antigen-based detection methods have acceptable and satisfactory performance in the diagnosis of human giardiasis. The task ahead is to identify more specific target antigens and design simpler, cheaper, and more sensitive methods for the diagnosis of this common worldwide-distributed parasitic infection.PMID:37583633 | PMC:PMC10423904 | DOI:10.18502/ijpa.v18i2.13180

Spiritual Well-Being and Death Anxiety: A Cross-Sectional Study Among Iranian Patients With Acute Coronary Syndrome
This study evaluated the association between death anxiety and spiritual well-being in a total of 241 ACS patients in Shahroud, northeast of Iran. The data were collected using the Templer Death Anxiety Scale, and the Spiritual Well-being Scale by convenience sampling method. All patients indicated a high degree of death anxiety, and roughly half reported a moderate level of spiritual well-being. There was a significant and direct correlation between death anxiety and spiritual well-being levels. Older age, single status, and non-smoking were other predictors of good spiritual well-being. A multidisciplinary health team sh...
