ConclusionsCurrently, only 52.8% of all investigated studies in pediatric dialysis have available results, and the overall median time to publication did not meet FDA requirements. Acute kidney injury after heart transplant in young children: risk factors and outcomes
Conclusions AKI was common after heart transplant and associated with more complicated early post-transplant course. Lower baseline eCCl was associated with lower incidence of AKI; this merits further investigation. The association of pre-operative inotropes with less AKI may reflect a pathophysiological mechanism or be a surrogate for clinical factors and management prior to transplant. Avoiding high tacrolimus levels may be a modifiable risk factor for AKI.

In their own words: the value of qualitative research to improve the care of children with chronic kidney disease
This article will outline how qualitative research can generate relevant evidence to inform practice and policy in children with CKD, provide an overview of qualitative methods and introduce a framework to appraise qualitative research. More evidence derived from qualitative research is needed to inform shared decision-making and the development of interventions and policies that address the preferences and priorities of children with CKD and their families. Ultimately, this strategy may help to improve the outcomes that they regard as critical to their care.

Documenting urine output for pediatric urology patients in the post-anesthesia care unit: a quality improvement initiative
Close monitoring and documentation of urine output (UOP) after urologic surgery is a nursing standard of care in the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU). UOP is a critical piece of information for surgeons and anesthesiologists to provide safe quality patient care. The electronic medical record (EMR) is used to communicate this information between members of the care team. Initial review at our institution confirmed only 31.3% of children recovering in the PACU after urologic surgery had a numerical value for UOP documented in the EMR.

Acute Kidney Injury in Pediatric Patients with COVID-19; Clinical Features and Outcome
CONCLUSION: Kidneys are among the major organs affected by COVID-19. Although kidney abnormalities resolve in the majority of pediatric COVID-19 infections, particular attention should be paid to serum creatinine and electrolyte levels in patients affected by COVID-19, particularly children with a history of malnutrition and kidney disorders.
