Acute angle-closure related with choroidal metastasis from lung adenocarcinoma: A case report and literature review
CONCLUSION: This case demonstrated that patient with secondary acute angle-closure attacks from large bullous choroidal detachment related to choroidal metastasis could only be successfully treated with radiotherapy as both medical and laser therapy might not be capable of breaking angle-closure attacks.PMID:37424265 | DOI:10.1177/11206721231187425

Does low ‐level laser therapy decrease pain and edema in patients undergoing orthognathic surgery? Systematic review and meta‐analysis
AbstractThis systematic review purposed to investigate whether low-level laser therapy is effective in reducing pain and edema in patients undergoing orthognathic surgery. An electronic search was conducted in PubMed, SCOPUS, Embase, SciELO, Web of Science, LILACS, IEEE XPLORE, Google Scholar, OpenThesis, OpenGrey, and Open Access Thesis and Dissertations with no restrictions on language or year of publication. PICOS strategy was used to define the eligibility criteria. The risk of bias (ROB 2.0 Tool) and methodological quality assessment was carried out, and a meta-analysis was performed using a random-effect model. The q...

Non-surgical adjunctive interventions for accelerating tooth movement in patients undergoing orthodontic treatment
CONCLUSIONS: The evidence from randomised controlled trials concerning the effectiveness of non-surgical interventions to accelerate orthodontic treatment is of low to very low certainty. It suggests that there is no additional benefit of light vibrational forces or photobiomodulation for reducing the duration of orthodontic treatment. Although there may be a limited benefit from photobiomodulation application for accelerating discrete treatment phases, these results have to be interpreted with caution due to their questionable clinical significance. Further well-designed, rigorous RCTs with longer follow-up periods spanni...
