Routine childhood vaccination programme coverage, El Salvador, 2011-In search of timeliness.
Abstract While assessing immunization programmes, not only vaccination coverage is important, but also timely receipt of vaccines. We estimated both vaccination coverage and timeliness, as well as reasons for non-vaccination, and identified predictors of delayed or missed vaccination, for vaccines of the first two years of age, in El Salvador. We conducted a cluster survey among children aged 23-59 months. Caregivers were interviewed about the child immunization status and their attitudes towards immunization. Vaccination dates were obtained from children immunization cards at home or at health facilities. We refe...

Do You Believe More Vaccines or Better Nutrition Prevents Disease?
Conclusion Tremendous government financial and medical resources are wasted on the development of more vaccinations to prevent diseases. No research has proven the effectiveness of vaccinations in preventing illness. Overwhelming evidence exists to show vaccines are dangerous to health and contribute to illness, injury and death. To prevent disease, one should avoid vaccinations, mercury dental fillings and toxic food. Following a nutrient-dense diet of whole, organic foods and removing toxic metals from the body are the best avenues to try and prevent illness and enhance health. References http://www.fierce...

SCN1A Genetic Test for Dravet Syndrome (Severe Myoclonic Epilepsy of Infancy and its Clinical Subtypes) for use in the Diagnosis, Prognosis, Treatment and Management of Dravet Syndrome
Clinical Scenario Test for epilepsy syndromes associated with mutations in the SCN1A gene including the severe infantile onset epilepsies- typical Dravet syndrome (severe myoclonic epilepsy in infancy) and its borderline subtypes. Dravet syndrome typically presents in the first year of life with prolonged febrile and non-febrile, generalised clonic or hemiclonic epileptic seizures in children with no pre-existing developmental problems. Other seizure types including myoclonic, focal and atypical absence seizures appear between the ages of one and four years. The epilepsy is usually refractory to standard anti-epileptic med...

Vaccination timeliness in preterm infants: an integrative review of the literature
ConclusionThis review indicates that preterm infants are not vaccinated in a timely manner. Those involved in vaccinating preterm infants must be informed of the genuine contraindications to avoid unnecessary delays putting preterm infants at an increased risk of infection. Relevance to clinical practiceCare providers should acknowledge the risk of a delay in preterm infants and actively promote vaccination in this population. Regular training should help to negate the occurrence of inappropriate delays and careful discharge planning is needed to ensure that preterm infants are vaccinated on time. This article is protected ...

IJERPH, Vol. 15, Pages 1432: In Search of Factors Negatively Affecting Vaccine Immunity to Pertussis in Preschool Children Before the Administration of the First Booster
Conclusions: Immunomodulation considered on the example of titre of IgG antibody to pertussis can serve as a useful model of the assessment of development of acquired immunity after mandatory vaccinations.

NIH and Other Public Private Partnerships to Research Treatments for Multiple Diseases
Over the past few weeks, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) has made a number of important announcements regarding collaborations with industry as well as the funding of several new research initiatives. Below is a summary of these stories. NIH Partners With Eli Lilly and Others on Rare Diseases FierceBiotechResearch reported that NIH selected four (4) new preclinical drug development studies to uncover new therapies for rare diseases. The projects will be funded through the Therapeutics for Rare and Neglected Diseases (TRND) program under NIH's National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences, NCATS, which ...

Vaccine Production Strain for Acellular Pertussis Vaccine
Available for licensing from the NIH is a vaccine production strain of Bordetella bronchiseptica that produces Bordetella pertussis toxin in high yield. The Bordetella bronchiseptica strain has been modified to eliminate expression of filamentous hemagglutinin, which typically has to be removed in purification of the toxin, thereby reducing the yield of the active vaccine component. Immediately available for licensing is a strain that encodes a mutated pertussis toxin, which does not have to be chemically detoxified. IC: NIDCRNIH Ref. Belshe talks goals for NIH post
While Dr. Robert Belshe serves on a council for the National Institutes of Health (NIH) he’ll no doubt strive to make improving influenza vaccines a high priority. But he also says he’ll focus on pertussis since the country is in the middle of an epidemic and vaccines seem to be losing efficacy. A recent study published last week in the New England Journal of Medicine shows that the bacteria that causes whooping cough, or pertussis, is becoming resistant to vaccines. In 2010, there were 27,550…

Does support to Private Health Practitioners increase childhood vaccination coverage? Findings from a comparative study in Afghanistan
CONCLUSION: Our study shows that PHPs in remote and conflict affected locations in Afghanistan can play an important role to increase childhood vaccination coverage. Expanding this program to comparable provinces in Afghanistan and to other countries struggling with insecurity and weak public health systems may save much childhood morbidity and mortality.PMID:34325933 | DOI:10.1016/j.vaccine.2021.07.018

This “Free” Vaccine Can Cause Brain Damage and Death — Propaganda from Authorities Promises Protection
Conclusion It is quite typical for mass media to be biased, incomplete, and uninformed when reporting on the subject of vaccinations. Even the editorial section of major newspapers are often one-sided in their reporting, failing to print opposing viewpoints to the widespread vaccination propaganda. Unless individuals do their own research, they will be victims of the continued media propaganda and scare tactics used to promote vaccinations. Once toxins are unnaturally injected into the bloodstream, the known and unknown damage cannot be easily undone. To Learn More For more information about the myths surrounding whooping ...

Five Month-Old Baby Dies Just Days After 8 Vaccinations – Parents Are Charged With Her Murder
Conclusion As with so many of these cases, Baby A did not just receive just one vaccine, so it is therefore difficult to pinpoint exactly which vaccine, if any, may have led to her death. However, it is vital that the doctors involved in this case as with all cases, consider the vaccines as a possible contributory factor. Sadly, these parents have been accused and charged with the murder of their daughter without any substantial evidence of foul play. There appears to be no evidence of external head injuries or bruising to the upper body to indicate that Baby A had been shaken. I believe that if this child had been shaken ...

Infant pertussis and household transmission in Korea.
Abstract A recent resurgence of pertussis has raised public health concerns even in developed countries with high vaccination coverage. The aim of this study was to describe the clinical characteristics of infant pertussis, and to determine the relative importance of household transmission in Korea. The multicenter study was prospectively conducted from January 2009 to September 2011. We identified the demographic and clinical data from these patients and performed the diagnostic tests for pertussis in their household contacts. Twenty-one patients with confirmed pertussis were included in the analysis. All infecti...

Spontaneous reports of primary ovarian insufficiency after vaccination: A review of the vaccine adverse event reporting system (VAERS)
CONCLUSIONS: POI is rarely reported to VAERS. Most reports contained limited diagnostic information and were submitted after published cases of POI following HPV vaccination. Results of our review do not suggest a safety concern.PMID:36732165 | DOI:10.1016/j.vaccine.2022.12.038
