Prediction of early death after myocardial infarction in patients with reduced left ventricular ejection fraction. The search for new indications for cardioverter-defibrillator implantation
CONCLUSIONS: The highest risk of death in patients with reduced LVEF who survived until hospital discharge occurred within the first 40 days after MI. There is possibility to select patients with the worst prognosis and treat them just more aggressively.PMID:34897630 | DOI:10.33963/KP.a2021.0177

The Search for Associations of Serum Proteins with the Presence of Unstable Atherosclerotic Plaque in Coronary Atherosclerosis
Int J Mol Sci. 2022 Oct 24;23(21):12795. doi: 10.3390/ijms232112795.ABSTRACTTo study the associations of blood proteins with the presence of unstable atherosclerotic plaques in the arteries of patients with coronary atherosclerosis using quantitative proteomics. The studies involved two groups of men with coronary atherosclerosis (group 1 (St) had only stable atherosclerotic plaques; group 2 (Ns) had only unstable atherosclerotic plaques, according to histological analysis of tissue samples); the average age of patients was 57.95 ± 7.22. Protein concentrations in serum samples were determined using the PeptiQuant Plus Pro...

The impact of incomplete revascularization on early and late outcomes in ST elevation myocardial infarction
ConclusionsIn patients with STEMI the rSS independently predicts cardiac death and MI. Patients with a rSS>8 had substantially higher rates of cardiac death or MI. The rSS can be used to define incomplete revascularization in STEMI and predict adverse outcomes.Condensed abstractThis study evaluates the association between incomplete revascularization in STEMI, quantified using the residual SYNTAX score (rSS), and subsequent cardiac mortality and myocardial infarction. Our results found incomplete revascularization, as defined by rSS, was common, and the rSS was an independent predictor of cardiac death and MI. Patients wit...

Impacts of Renal Sympathetic Activation on Atrial Fibrillation: The Potential Role of the Autonomic Cross Talk Between Kidney and Heart Arrhythmia and Electrophysiology
ConclusionsThis study demonstrated that renal sympathetic nerve activation induced by 3 hours of P‐RSS facilitated atrial fibrillation inducibility by upregulating cardiac autonomic nervous activity, suggesting a potential autonomic cross talk between kidney and heart.

Residual SYNTAX Score in Relation to Coronary Culprit Plaque Characteristics and Cardiovascular Risk in ST Segment Elevation Myocardial Infarction: an Intravascular Optical Coherence Tomography Study
In conclusion, culprit plaque morphology was significantly correlated with rSS, and elevated rSS was associated with higher cardiovascular risk in STEMI patients.ClinicalTrials.gov: NCT03593928
