Application of optical coherence tomography angiography macular analysis for systemic hypertension. A systematic review and meta-analysis
CONCLUSIONS: Microvascular rarefaction of the macula is found in hypertensive patients with a reduction of foveal and parafoveal vessel density and an increase of foveal avascular zone area. Disease duration and severity might be related to a microvascular rarefaction. OCTA could offer a novel tool for the assessment and follow-up of hypertensive patients.PMID:34718393 | DOI:10.1093/ajh/hpab172

Hypertensive primary intraventricular hemorrhage: a systematic review
AbstractPrimary intraventricular hemorrhage (PIVH) is a special subtype of intraventricular hemorrhage (IVH) without a hemorrhagic parenchymal component. Different conditions may cause this uncommon hemorrhage including trauma, vascular anomalies, coagulation disorders, and others. Frequently, PIVH is associated with structural vascular anomalies such as aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations, and dural fistulas. Traditionally, hypertension has been considered a predisposing factor for PIVH. A wide variety of studies have been published describing patients with PIVH; however, studies describing exclusively patients with hy...

Effects of a gluten-reduced or gluten-free diet for the primary prevention of cardiovascular disease
CONCLUSIONS: Very low-certainty evidence suggested that it is unclear whether gluten intake is associated with all-cause mortality. Our findings also indicate that low-certainty evidence may show little or no association between gluten intake and cardiovascular mortality and non-fatal myocardial infarction. Low-certainty evidence suggested that a lower compared with a higher gluten intake may be associated with a slightly increased risk to develop type 2 diabetes - a major cardiovascular risk factor. For other cardiovascular risk factors it is unclear whether there is a difference between a gluten-free and normal diet. Giv...

Ganglioglioma revealed by spontaneous intracerebral hematoma: a cohort study
CONCLUSION: ICH may be a mode of revelation of ganglioglioma, and ganglioglioma is a possible etiology of atypical ICH in young patients. Long-term imaging follow-up is mandatory in patients with unexplained ICH.PMID:35257724 | DOI:10.1016/j.neuchi.2022.02.008
