Application of point-of-care ultrasound in patients receiving enteral nutrition
CONCLUSIONS: POCUS is a real-time, highly repeatable, radiation-free, and non-invasive visual inspection technique, with high application value in assessing the nutritional status of patients receiving EN and guiding the development of further nutritional treatment plans. It is an important diagnostic and monitoring tool that can be used by the clinicians in the ICU.PMID:35731061 | DOI:10.26355/eurrev_202206_28960

Diagnostic accuracy of different ultrasound signs for detecting adnexal torsion: systematic review and meta-analysis
CONCLUSION: Diagnostic accuracy of the presence of an adnexal mass or pelvic fluid as ultrasound signs for suspecting an adnexal torsion is moderate, while the presence of ovarian edema, whirlpool sign and decreased or absent Doppler flow show good specificity. Congenital anomalies and perinatal outcomes following blastocyst vs cleavage-stage embryo transfer: systematic review and network meta-analysis
CONCLUSIONS: Current very low-certainty evidence shows that there may be little to no difference in the risk for congenital anomalies or adverse perinatal outcomes of pregnancies resulting from blastocyst and cleavage-stage fresh/frozen embryo transfers, apart from a slightly increased probability of birth of male newborns following blastocyst transfer. When considering cryopreservation, the frozen-blastocyst group was associated with a reduction in the risk for LBW compared to both fresh groups, and the fresh-cleavage with a reduction in the risk for perinatal death compared to both blastocyst groups. High-quality RCTs wi...

Estimating global prevalence, incidence, and outcomes of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease from 2000 to 2021: systematic review and meta-analysis
CONCLUSIONS: The prevalence of NAFLD is increasing globally. It is contributing to poor clinical outcomes including hepatocellular carcinoma and death. Rising awareness and urgent actions are warranted to control the NAFLD pandemic across the globe.PMID:36070463 | DOI:10.1097/CM9.0000000000002277

Upper limb exercise for arteriovenous fistula maturation in people requiring permanent haemodialysis access
CONCLUSIONS: Our findings suggest that the current research evidence examining upper limb exercise programs is of low quality, attributable to variability in the type of interventions used and the overall low number of studies and participants.PMID:36184076 | DOI:10.1002/14651858.CD013327.pub2

Follicular flushing during oocyte retrieval in assisted reproductive techniques
CONCLUSIONS: The effect of follicular flushing on both live birth and miscarriage rates compared with aspiration alone is uncertain. Although the evidence does not permit any firm conclusions on the impact of follicular flushing on oocyte yield, total number of embryos, number of cryopreserved embryos, or clinical pregnancy rate, it may be that the procedure itself takes longer than aspiration alone. The evidence was insufficient to permit any firm conclusions with respect to adverse events or safety.PMID:36409927 | DOI:10.1002/14651858.CD004634.pub4

Comparison of Clinical Efficacy of Transforaminal and Interlaminar Epidural Steroid Injection in Radicular Pain due to Cervical Diseases: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis
CONCLUSIONS: Comprehensive reviews of selected articles revealed TFESI could not be recommended over ILESI for the sake of a preferential cervical radiculopathy control due to the weak evidential strength.PMID:36608007
