Safety and immunogenicity of a plant-produced recombinant monomer hemagglutinin-based influenza vaccine derived from influenza A (H1N1)pdm09 virus: A Phase 1 dose-escalation study in healthy adults.
CONCLUSIONS: This is the first study demonstrating the safety and immunogenicity of a plant-produced subunit H1N1 influenza vaccine in healthy adults. The results support further clinical investigation of the HAC1 vaccine as well as demonstrate the feasibility of the plant-based technology for vaccine antigen production. Two More Children Left Paralyzed by Vaccines Before Chinese CDC And WHO Admit Vaccines Cause Paralysis
Conclusion Even though vaccines have been known to cause brain damage and have done very little to prevent disease, governments continue to add more and more vaccines to the children’s vaccination schedule. This is despite the fact that the developer of the polio vaccine has openly admitted in 1977 that live virus vaccines such as influenza and paralytic polio can cause the diseases that they are intended to prevent. As the cracks are beginning to show, it appears that the CDC and the WHO are beginning to crumble under the weight of complaining parents and professionals. This is not before its time. Armed with these fact...

Phase I/II trial of a replication-deficient trivalent influenza virus vaccine lacking NS1.
CONCLUSIONS: We show that vaccination with a replication-deficient trivalent influenza vaccine containing H1N1, H3N2 and B strains lacking NS1 is safe and induces significant levels of antibodies (ClinicalTrials.gov identifier NCT01369862). PMID: 24183981 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

The substantial hospitalization burden of influenza in central China: surveillance for severe, acute respiratory infection, and influenza viruses, 2010–2012
ConclusionsIn central China, influenza A and B caused a substantial number of hospitalizations during multiple periods each year. Our findings strongly suggest that young children should be the highest priority group for annual influenza vaccination in China.

Your Children to be Used as Guinea Pigs for New GMO Vaccine
Conclusion PaxVax claims to produce “socially responsible vaccines.” Is a vaccine containing genetically modified bacteria really socially responsible? Is it socially responsible for governments, healthcare providers, and pharmacy technicians to not tell you they are injecting you with a genetically modified vaccine? If you object to the use of GMOs, or if you are trying to avoid the use of GMOs in your household, you will certainly want to avoid genetically modified vaccines. If you would like to learn more about the vaccine ingredients injected into your child, download our free Vaccine Ingredient Summary now...

The Effect of Adjuvant H1N1 Influenza Vaccine on Allograft Kidney Function
Conclusions: The use of pandemic adjuvant H1N1 influenza vaccination is safe in patients after kidney transplantation. However, larger cohort studies with longer follow-up periods are needed to confirm this issue.

MenHibrix: A New Combination Meningococcal Vaccine for Infants and Toddlers.
CONCLUSIONS: Hib-MenCY-TT has been demonstrated to be a safe and immunogenic vaccination for prevention of disease caused by N meningitidis serogroups C and Y and H influenzae type b in healthy infants and toddlers. Currently, the ACIP recommends the use of Hib-MenCY-TT specifically in high-risk infants aged 6 weeks to 18 months. Hib-MenCY-TT provides the first therapeutic option for vaccination of infants as young as 6 weeks of age who are at increased risk for meningococcal disease. Treatment of Post-Influenza Vaccination Induced Acute Disseminated Encephalomyelitis (ADEM) with Plasma Exchange - A Case Report (P4.036)
DISCUSSION:Influenza vaccination has been rarely linked to ADEM. Due to a low-incidence of the disease, there are no established treatment guidelines. Our patient did not respond to steroids but showed marked radiographic improvement with PE. PE should be considered for refractory ADEM after influenza vaccination.Disclosure: Dr. Chahil has nothing to disclose. Dr. Pillainayagam has nothing to disclose. Dr. Schulz has nothing to disclose.

Comparison of the Immunogenicity and Safety of Conventional Subunit, MF59-Adjuvanted, and Intradermal Influenza Vaccine in the Elderly.
Abstract The influenza vaccination is known as the most effective method for preventing influenza and its complications in the elderly. Conventional subunit (Agrippal S1, Novartis), MF59-adjuvanted (Fluad, Novartis), and intradermal influenza vaccine (IDflu15, Sanofi Pasteur) are widely used throughout Korea. However, few comparative studies evaluating the safety and immunogenicity of these vaccines are available. Prior to the beginning of the 2011-2012 influenza season, 335 elderly healthy volunteers randomly received one of the three seasonal trivalent influenza vaccines: Conventional subunit, MF59-adjuvanted an...

What Medications Should Be Avoided with Long QT Syndrome?
Discussion Mycoplasma pneumoniae is a frequent cause of pharyngitis, pneumonia and acute bronchitis, but acute otitis media is uncommon. Symptoms are usually self-limited and variable and include cough (non-productive usually but later can be productive), fever, fatigue and occasionally headache. Coryza is rare. Cough can continue for 3 to 4 weeks and can be accompanied by wheezing. Radiographic changes include diffuse infiltrates or focal abnormalities but are variable. Long QT syndrome (LQTS) is a group of disorders that have a prolonged QT interval and a polymorphic ventricular tachycardia. Torsade de pointes (“t...

Parents' preferences for seasonal influenza vaccine for their children in Japan.
This study investigated parents' preference for the type of seasonal influenza vaccine for their children if alternatives are available. The marginal willingness to pay for vaccine benefits was also evaluated. We conducted a discrete choice experiment, a quantitative approach that is often used in healthcare studies, in January 2013. Respondents were recruited from a registered online survey panel, and parents with at least one child under 13 years of age were offered questionnaires. This study showed that for seasonal influenza vaccines for their children, parents are more likely to value safety, including thimerosal-free...

The Ebola Outbreak: What Every American Needs To Know
This year has quickly become the year of the Ebola virus. The recent outbreak of the Ebola virus in Africa has begun attracting attention in the U.S. for good reason. While the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have stated that the chances of the virus spreading to the U.S. are low, it doesn’t change how fast it is spreading. A Fatal Disease Ebola virus disease is fatal for humans, with a 50 to 90 percent fatality rate, and since early 2014, nearly 600 people have died and more than 1,200 have become infected with the deadly virus, including two American aid workers. The World Health Organization (WHO) has ...

Immunogenicity and safety of AS03A-adjuvanted H5N1 influenza vaccine prepared from bulk antigen after stockpiling for 4 years.
CONCLUSION: The immunogenicity and safety observed with AS03A-H5N1 vaccine formulated with bulk antigen which had been stockpiled before vialing and administration was consistent with that previously observed with newly manufactured AS03A-H5N1 vaccine. This suggests that stockpiling bulk antigen for 4 years does not compromise the immunogenicity or reactogenicity of the vaccine. PMID: 25090645 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Are Vaccines Right for Your Child? Debunking the Myths of the DTaP Vaccine
Conclusion As a journalist and a mother myself, I found Dr. Lewis’s paper to be poorly written, lacking in substance and containing very few credible references. If parents are given poor information and very few facts, how can they ever make an informed decision about vaccinations? Parents are continually being lied to by the medical profession, the mainstream media, the pharmaceutical industry and world governments, and it needs to stop. How can we trust a person paid to vaccinate our children? Let’s face it – Dr. Karen Lewis is, after all, the Medical Director of the Arizona Department of Health Services. She is h...
