Postoperative Stroke After Type A Aortic Dissection Repair: Hemorrhage Versus Ischemia
ConclusionsPostoperative hemorrhagic stroke was associated with poorer neurological outcomes and lower survival rates than those with ischemic stroke. Patients who have complex arch replacement, long cardiopulmonary bypass and aortic clamping times are at risk for postoperative hemorrhagic stroke and should have intensive neurological surveillance for early diagnosis and treatment after ATAAD repair surgery.

Mid-term outcomes of hybrid debranching endovascular aortic arch repair in landing zones 0-2
CONCLUSION: Hybrid debranching endovascular aortic arch repair is feasible and relatively safe with acceptable mid-term outcomes. Zone 0 patients has worse early and late outcomes in comparison to other zones. Careful patient selection and improved endovascular technology may be the key to improve the outcomes.PMID:35100906 | DOI:10.1177/17085381211068230

TEVAR With Supra-Aortic Trunk Revascularization Is Associated With Increased Risk Of Periprocedural Ischemic Stroke
Ischemic stroke is a devastating complication of thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR). This risk may be higher in more proximal aneurysms that require arch manipulation. The purpose of this study was to (1) describe 30-day stroke and death rates in patients undergoing TEVAR, (2) compare stroke rates in patients undergoing TEVAR for arch versus descending aneurysm pathology, and (3) identify predictive factors associated with stroke after TEVAR.

One-year outcome of postoperative stroke and nerve injury after supraclavicular revascularization of the left subclavian artery for proximal landing zone extension in thoracic endovascular aortic repair
To assess the outcome of stroke and nerve injury after supraclavicular revascularization of the left subclavian artery for proximal landing zone extension in thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR).

Endovascular Repair of Complicated Type B Aortic Intramural Haematoma: A Single Centre Long Term Experience
CONCLUSION: Complicated type B IMH can be treated effectively by TEVAR, thus preventing death from aortic rupture. However, severe early post-operative complications, most importantly stroke, are of concern. Long term outcomes are excellent, although re-interventions are not uncommon, either for progression of proximal or distal aortic disease or due to stent graft related complications.PMID:34924300 | DOI:10.1016/j.ejvs.2021.09.045

Effectiveness of Proximal Landing Zones 0, 1, and 2 Hybrid Thoracic Endovascular Aortic Repair: A Single Centre 12 Year Experience
CONCLUSION: Satisfactory early and long term results of hybrid arch repair at zones 0, 1, and 2 were achieved. To avoid complications and aortic events, the treatment strategy of hybrid arch repair for aortic arch pathologies should be tailored using accurate pre-operative assessment of the ascending aorta and the aortic arch.PMID:34916108 | DOI:10.1016/j.ejvs.2021.10.043

Surgical approach for iatrogenic tracheoesophageal fistula. Case report and literature review
CONCLUSIONS: This complex pathology requires structured protocols for its prevention in patients in whom long-term mechanical ventilation is expected.PMID:34851590 | DOI:10.24875/CIRU.20000730
