Protocol for Home-Based Solution for Remote Atrial Fibrillation Screening to Prevent Recurrence Stroke (HUA-TUO AF Trial): a randomised controlled trial
The objective of the study was to explore the use of long-term home-based ECG monitoring for AF detection and stroke prevention in patients with a history of stroke. Methods and analysis This prospective, randomised, open-label trial with blinded endpoint adjudication aimed to evaluate the efficacy of long-term home-based ECG monitoring for AF detection and stroke prevention in a 24-month period. Patients aged >18 years with a history of ischaemic stroke will be stratified according to the time from the index ischaemic stroke: <1, 1–3 and >3 years and then randomised in 1:1 to (1) home-based AF screening an...

Mechanical Circulatory Support Prior to Heart Transplantation Predicts Early Post-Operative Stroke
CONCLUSIONS: With the exception of left ventricular assist devices, use of MCS modalities leading to HT is significantly and independently associated with stroke during the early post-HT period.PMID:33785302 | DOI:10.1016/j.amjms.2021.03.008

Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation for Treatment of Aortic Valve Stenosis: A Health Technology Assessment.
CONCLUSIONS: Moderate quality evidence showed that TAVI and SAVR had similar mortality rates in patients who were eligible for surgery. Information about quality of life showed similar results for TAVI and SAVR in the first year, but was based on low quality evidence. Moderate quality evidence also showed that TAVI was associated with higher rates of adverse events than SAVR. In patients who were not suitable candidates for surgery, moderate quality evidence showed that TAVI improved survival compared with balloon aortic valvuloplasty. When TAVI was compared with SAVR, the incremental cost-effectiveness ratio was $51,988 p...

A vesetranszplant áció korai posztoperatív hatásai a szív- és érrendszeri betegségekre klinikai gyakorlatunkban
CONCLUSION: After transplantation, the left atrial and the end-systolic diameter of the left ventricle regrediated, decreasing the frequency of arrhythmic episodes. The number of the middle grade mitral valve regurgitation decreased and the calcification among diabetic population increased significantly. Orv Hetil. 2021; 162(26): 1052-1062.PMID:34175832 | DOI:10.1556/650.2021.32269

Pretransplant and perioperative predictors of early heart transplantation outcomes.
Conclusion. Pretransplant predictors of adverse outcome after heart transplantation were recipient age, lower BMI, ischemic cardiomyopathy, reoperation and diabetes. Postoperative predictors of mortality were inferior donor heart hemodynamics, epinephrine use, and serum lactate concentrations. Non-survivors were more likely to require re-sternotomy, MCS, and RRT.
