ConclusionIn our consecutive series with 43 encephalopathy cases, neuroimaging and CSF analysis did not support the role of direct viral CNS invasion or CNS inflammation as the cause of encephalopathy.

Kidney Disease and Epilepsy
The family of a 47-year-old man with end stage renal failure on hemodialysis brought him to the emergency room. He had missed 3 sessions of dialysis due to concerns for COVID-19 precautions. He had developed increasing confusion and generalized weakness. Examination showed altered mental status and disorientation to date and place. He had bilateral gaze evoked nystagmus and asterixis in his upper extremities. His lab work showed Blood Urea Nitrogen (BUN) of 75  mg/dL and Creatinine of 6.2 mg/dL. His EEG showed generalized triphasic waves (Fig. 1).

Association of Cognitive Function Screening Results with Adherence and Performance in a Pedometer-Based Intervention
Conclusion: Participants with worse results on cognitive function screening had worse adherence and derived less benefit from this pedometer-based intervention. Future exercise interventions should be developed incorporating methods to address cognitive impairment, for example, by including caregivers when planning such interventions.Am J Nephrol

Risk factors for intracerebral hemorrhage in patients undergoing maintenance hemodialysis
ConclusionHigher systolic BP and abnormal iPTH metabolism might be associated with ICH in patients undergoing hemodialysis. Comprehensive control of hypertension and iPTH may be a fundamental preventive strategy for ICH in these patients.
