Connexin 43 mediated the angiogenesis of buyang huanwu decoction via vascular endothelial growth factor and angiopoietin-1 after ischemic stroke
Chin J Physiol. 2022 Mar-Apr;65(2):72-79. doi: 10.4103/cjp.cjp_94_21.ABSTRACTBuyang Huanwu decoction (BYHWD), a classical prescription for ischemic stroke, has been reported to promote angiogenesis after focal ischemia. However, the mechanisms of the contribution of BYHWD on angiogenesis are still unclear. Connexin 43 (Cx43) played important roles in the functions of neurogliovascular unit. Therefore, the aim of this study was to explore the potential role of Cx43 in angiogenesis of the ischemic brain after BYHWD treatment. Middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) was used to establish the model of focal ischemia. BYHWD was...

Acute effects of mixed circuit training on hemodynamic and cardiac autonomic control in chronic hemiparetic stroke patients: A randomized controlled crossover trial
Conclusion: A single bout of MCT elicited prolonged PEH in chronic hemiparetic stroke patients. This occurred concurrently with increased sympathovagal balance and lowered SVR, suggesting vasodilation capacity is a major determinant of PEH in these patients. This clinical trial was registered in the Brazilian Clinical Trials Registry (RBR-5dn5zd), available at https://ensaiosclinicos.gov.br/rg/RBR-5dn5zd.Clinical Trial Registration:https://ensaiosclinicos.gov.br/rg/RBR-5dn5zd, identifier RBR-5dn5zd

To identify normovolemia in humans: The stroke volume response to passive leg raising vs. head ‐down tilt
In conclusion, SV has a maximal value for rest in supine men, while PLR restores SV as CBV is reduced in a semi-recumbent position and the procedure thereby makes healthy volunteers seem fluid responsive.

Mixed circuit training acutely reduces arterial stiffness in patients with chronic stroke: a crossover randomized controlled trial
ConclusionA single bout of MCT reduces arterial stiffness during laboratory (60  min) and ambulatory (24 h) recovery phases in patients with chronic stroke with moderate-to-high reproducibility.Trial registration: Ensaiosclinicos.gov.br identifier RBR-5dn5zd.

Rehabilitation assisted by Space technology —A SAHC approach in immobilized patients—A case of stroke
Discussion: These alterations were attributed to the short-arm human centrifuge intervention. This case study provides novel evidence supporting the use of the short-arm human centrifuge as a promising therapeutic strategy in patients with restricted mobility, with application to astronauts with long-term muscle disuse in space.

Amino acid solution mitigates hypothermia response and intestinal damage following exertional heat stroke in male mice
Exertional heat stroke (EHS) is a debilitating and potentially fatal condition for which few prevention strategies exist. These results suggest that a 5AAS improves Tc regulation during EHS recovery through maintaining mucosal function and integrity and that protecting the GI tract during EHS may be beneficial in some of the health consequences of EHS exposure. AbstractIncreased gut permeability is implicated in the initiation and extent of the cytokine inflammatory response associated with exertional heat stroke (EHS). The primary objective of this study was to determine if a five amino acid oral rehydration solution (5AA...
