Management of Hepatitis C in Children - A New Paradigm
CONCLUSION: With various DAA regimens now being approved for children above three years of age, the treatment of active HCV infection (HCV-RNA positive) in children has become simple. Besides the effectiveness of DAA therapy, public awareness about HCV transmission, better screening, and making the DAAs available at a subsidized price in the public sectors are necessary to eliminate HCV infection in India.PMID:36639971

Genotype 4 hepatitis C virus-a review of a diverse genotype
CONCLUSIONS: The availability of safe and effective therapy has created a real opportunity for HCV eradication in line with the goal set by the World Health Organization. An example of a country where this is happening is Egypt, where GT4 accounts for more than 90% of HCV infections. There, broad access to therapy has been effectively supported by population-based screening.PMID:36640687 | DOI:10.1016/j.advms.2022.12.003

A Systematic Review on Interferon Alpha-Induced Cognitive Impairment in Hepatitis C Patients
CONCLUSION: In conclusion, we have observed conflicting results regarding the impact of INF-α treatment on the cognitive functioning of patients suffering from HCV. Thus, there is an urgent need for an extensive study to evaluate the exact association between INF-αtherapy and cognitive functioning in HCV patients.PMID:36883269 | DOI:10.2174/1574886317666220428134931

Association between hepatitis C infection during pregnancy with maternal and neonatal outcomes: a systematic review and meta-analysis
CONCLUSIONS: Mothers with HCV infection had a markedly increased probability of PTB and/or IUGR and/or LBW. In clinical practice, standard care of treatment and proper monitoring are needed for the pregnant population with HCV infection. Our findings may provide useful information for selecting appropriate therapy methods for HCV-positive pregnant women.PMID:37140297 | DOI:10.26355/eurrev_202304_32120
