Head ‐to‐head comparison of prasugrel versus ticagrelor in patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention: A meta‐analysis of randomized controlled trials
ConclusionsAlthough the efficacy was similar between prasugrel and ticagrelor, prasugrel may be associated with a lower risk of bleeding compared with ticagrelor during short‐ to mid‐term follow‐up period after PCI. Further studies are warranted in a larger patient population during longer‐term follow up to validate these findings.

Transfemoral Transcatheter Aortic Valve-in-Valve Implantation for Aortic Valve Bioprosthesis Failure With the Fully Repositionable and Retrievable Lotus Valve: A Single-Center Experience.
CONCLUSIONS: Transfemoral VIV-TAVI for the treatment of surgical aortic bioprosthesis failure with the Lotus device appears to be safe and is associated with no significant residual aortic regurgitation, and offers favorable transvalvular hemodynamics at 30-day follow-up. Gender ‐related differences in antiplatelet treatment patterns and outcome: Insights from the GReekAntiPlatElet Registry
ConclusionsIn a contemporary “real‐life” cohort of patients with ACS treated with PCI and focusing on antiplatelet treatment 1‐year ischemic outcome does not differ by gender, while women do present more frequently not actionable bleeding events.

Aspirin Versus Aspirin Plus Clopidogrel as Antithrombotic Treatment Following Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement With a Balloon-Expandable Valve: The ARTE (Aspirin Versus Aspirin + Clopidogrel Following Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation) Randomized Clinical Trial
Conclusions This small trial showed that SAPT (vs. DAPT) tended to reduce the occurrence of major adverse events following TAVR. SAPT reduced the risk for major or life-threatening events while not increasing the risk for MI or stroke. Larger studies are needed to confirm these results. Final 5-year clinical and echocardiographic results for treatment of severe aortic stenosis with a self-expanding bioprosthesis from the ADVANCE Study
ConclusionFive-year results in real-world, elderly, high-risk patients undergoing TAVI with a self-expanding bioprosthesis provided evidence for continued valve durability with low rates of reinterventions and haemodynamic valve dysfunction.Trial registrationClinicalTrials.gov, NCT01074658.

Outcome With the Repositionable and Retrievable Boston Scientific Lotus Valve Compared With the Balloon-Expandable Edwards Sapien 3 Valve in Patients Undergoing Transfemoral Aortic Valve Replacement Structural Heart Disease
Conclusions— Transfemoral aortic valve replacement with the ES3 and the Lotus were associated with similar 30-day, 12-month, and 24-month clinical outcomes. Need for permanent pacemaker implantation was significantly higher with the repositionable Lotus device. Clinical Trial Registration— URL: http://www.clinicaltrials.gov. Abstract 016: Endovascular Management of Major Vascular Access Site Complications During Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI). Session Title: Poster Session I
Conclusion: Many patients with major vascular complications during TAVI can be treated with a pure endovascular approach. In our small series we observed no difference in concurrent complications when an endovascular repair can be rapidly initiated as compared to a primary surgical approach.

Abstract 140: Effects of Smoking Co-Morbidities and Obesity on NonHemorrhagic Stroke Outcomes Session Title: Poster Session II
Conclusion: Smokers present with non-hemorrhagic stroke at a significantly younger age than non-smokers and die at much younger age during follow-up. While in our cohort smoking was not linked to other traditional risk factors for non-hemorrhagic stroke, it was associated with increased mortality in patients with decreased BMI, dyslipidemia, and with renal disease. "Protective" effect of increased BMI was not observed in smokers.
