Genomic Characterization of Salmonella enterica Resistant to Cephalosporin, Quinolones, And Macrolides
This study focused on determining the antimicrobial resistance of 373 Salmonella isolates, collected from various foods, humans, and animals, as well as the environmental sludge between 2005 and 2020 in Türkiye. Phenotypic analysis of the resistance was determined by disk diffusion method. Isolates resistant to any of the following: ciprofloxacin, pefloxacin, azithromycin, and ceftriaxone were tested for the presence of quinolone, beta-lactamase, and/or macrolide resistance genes by PCR and gel electrophoresis. Bacterial isolates and their antimicrobial susceptibility profile of superficial and deep-seated skin and soft tissue infections
CONCLUSIONS: The predominant etiology of SSTIs is GNR. Currently, there is very high resistance against oral antibiotics. Antimicrobial resistance against carbapenem has also increased. Prevalence and Antimicrobial-Resistant Features of < em > Shigella < /em > Species in East Africa from 2015-2022: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
CONCLUSION: The pooled estimate indicates high burden of Shigella infection in East Africa, as well as a high proportion of drug resistance pattern to tetracycline, ampicillin, chloramphenicol, and amoxicillin.
