RNA binding protein IGF2BP1 synergizes with ETV6-RUNX1 to drive oncogenic signaling in B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia
CONCLUSION: Our data suggest a combined impact of the ETV6::RUNX1 fusion protein and RNA binding protein, IGF2BP1 in activating multiple oncogenic pathways in B-ALL which makes IGF2BP1 and these pathways as attractive therapeutic targets and biomarkers.PMID:37670323 | DOI:10.1186/s13046-023-02810-1

Aortitis after administration of pegfilgrastim to a healthy donor for peripheral blood stem cell collection
Int J Hematol. 2023 Aug 14. doi: 10.1007/s12185-023-03649-0. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTA 45-year-old man who was a sibling donor for allogeneic peripheral blood stem cell transplantation (allo-PBSCT) was administered 7.2 mg of pegfilgrastim for stem cell collection. Peripheral blood stem cells were collected 4 days after administration of pegfilgrastim (Day 4) and 4.32 × 106 /kg of CD34-positive cells per recipient body weight were obtained. Fever of 38 ℃ or higher and left submandibular pain appeared on Day 6. Ultrasonography and contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CT) showed wall thickening of the carotid arter...

The reconstitution of T-cells after Allogeneic Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant in a Pediatric Patient with Congenital Amegakaryocytic Thrombocytopenia (CAMT)
CONCLUSION: Successful treatment of acute GvHD prevented advancing the condition to chronic GvHD, and this was accompanied by delayed T-cell reconstitution through an increase in Treg:Tcons ratio.PMID:37526450 | DOI:10.2174/1871530323666230801100113

Substitution of calcineurin inhibitors with corticosteroids after allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation
In conclusion, CIs were switched to corticosteroids in patients with severe clinical conditions. The incidence of acute GVHD was acceptable. Although the short-term mortality rate was high, improvement of renal function or fluid overload was observed in a certain proportion of the patients.PMID:37480446 | DOI:10.1007/s12185-023-03645-4

Granulocyte colony-stimulating factor with or without stem or progenitor cell  or growth factors infusion for people with compensated or decompensated advanced chronic liver disease
CONCLUSIONS: G-CSF, alone or in combination, seems to decrease mortality in people with decompensated advanced chronic liver disease of whatever aetiology and with or without acute-on-chronic liver failure, but the certainty of evidence is very low because of high risk of bias, inconsistency, and imprecision. The results of trials conducted in Asia and Europe were discrepant; this could not be explained by differences in participant selection, intervention, and outcome measurement. Data on serious adverse events and health-related quality of life were few and inconsistently reported. The evidence is also very uncertain reg...

Post-transplant lymphoproliferative disorder myeloradiculopathy
Pract Neurol. 2023 May 5:pn-2023-003696. doi: 10.1136/pn-2023-003696. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTA 56-year-old woman developed progressive subacute lower limb weakness with sensory and autonomic abnormalities. She had received a living-donor kidney transplantation 21 years before for end-stage chronic kidney disease and took mycophenolate mofetil and prednisolone. MR scan of the spinal cord showed bilateral cauda equina gadolinium enhancement and MR scan of the brain showed enhancing nodular hyperintensities in the internal capsule and globus pallidus. Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) showed a pleocytosis with extremely low gl...

An adult case of refractory autoimmune neutropenia after liver transplantation
Int J Hematol. 2023 Feb 21. doi: 10.1007/s12185-023-03562-6. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTAutoimmune neutropenia (AIN) is an exceptionally rare condition that occurs after liver transplantation. Here, we report an adult case of refractory AIN 3.5 years after liver transplantation. A 59-year-old man who underwent brain-dead donor liver transplantation in August 2018 developed rapid neutropenia (0.07 × 109/L) in December 2021. The patient was diagnosed with AIN based on positivity for anti-human neutrophil antigen-1a antibody. There was no response to granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF), prednisolone, or rituxima...
