The effect of thrombocytapheresis on hemogram and biochemistry parameters in patients with essential thrombocytemia
CONCLUSION: The use of thrombocytapheresıs in patients with essential thrombocytosis causes a rapid decrease in platelet values as well as an effect on hemogram and biochemistry parameters. Other hemogram and biochemistry parameters such as platelet value should be monitored in patients.PMID:37558046 | DOI:10.1016/j.tracli.2023.08.001

Electrochemical oxidation technique to pharmaceutical pollutants removal
Chemosphere. 2023 Jun 28:139373. doi: 10.1016/j.chemosphere.2023.139373. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTHuman progress in medical science and drug production has improved the growth process and increased human lifespan. Most of the drugs used are to control or prevent common human diseases. These drugs can be produced in different ways such as synthetic, chemical, biological, etc. On the other hand, pharmaceutical companies have a large volume of pharmaceutical effluents and wastewater that enters the environment and harms nature and human life. The main problems of entering the pharmaceutical effluent into the environmenta...

A case of infection-induced thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura
CONCLUSION: TTP is an acute severe disease with complex etiology, abrupt onset, and dangerous conditions. In this patient with TTP, an important cause of the disease may have been an acute gastrointestinal infection. The plasma examination in another hospital revealed positive results for ADAMTS13 inhibitors, providing strong evidence for the diagnosis of this case. Multiple plasma exchanges and glucocorticoids yielded favorable treatment results and were critical measures of successful treatment of TTP.PMID:37182863 | DOI:10.3233/CH-231784

Selective quantification of diclofenac from groundwater and pharmaceutical samples by magnetic molecularly imprinted polymer-based sorbent coupled with the HPLC-PDA detection
Environ Sci Pollut Res Int. 2023 May 9. doi: 10.1007/s11356-023-27431-1. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTDiclofenac (DCF) is a pharmaceutical contaminant of water bodies and therefore, improvement of analytical techniques for its removal and quantitation is one of the current interests of analysts. Herein, DCF selective magnetic molecularly imprinted polymer (MMIP) has been fabricated and characterized by Fourier transform-infrared spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis, vibrating scanning magnetometer, scanning electron microscopy, high-resolution transmission electron microscope, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, and...
