Opioids in Post-stroke Pain: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
Conclusions: The limited number of the included studies and their heterogeneity in terms of study design do not support the efficacy of opioids in post-stroke pain and in pain-related outcomes. Large double-blind randomized clinical trials with objective assessment of pain and related symptoms are needed to further investigate this topic.

The Risk of Ischemic Cardio- and Cerebrovascular Events Associated with Oxycodone –Naloxone and Other Extended-Release High-Potency Opioids: A Nested Case–Control Study
ConclusionsOur study does not indicate an association between oxycodone –naloxone and ischemic cardio- or cerebrovascular events. However, our findings do suggest that every change in ER HPO therapy should be conducted with caution.

Connecting Metainflammation and Neuroinflammation Through the PTN-MK-RPTP β/ζ Axis: Relevance in Therapeutic Development
Conclusion The expression of the components of the PTN-MK-RPTPβ/ζ axis in immune cells and in inflammatory diseases suggests important roles for this axis in inflammation. Pleiotrophin has been recently identified as a limiting factor of metainflammation, a chronic pathological state that contributes to neuroinflammation and neurodegeneration. Abstract For my Ph.D. research topic, I isolated endogenous morphine-like analgesic dipeptide, kyotorphin, which mediates Met-enkephalin release, and discovered kyotorphin synthetase, a putative receptor and antagonist.
