Associations Between the Use of Metformin and Behavioral and Psychological Symptoms in Patients with Alzheimer ´s Disease, and Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus - a Register-Based Study
CONCLUSION: The result of this study suggests that metformin could be beneficial for patients diagnosed with AD, other than for blood glucose control. Although, more knowledge is needed before assigning metformin a role in treating BPSD.PMID:37221687 | DOI:10.2174/1567205020666230522102641

Association of metformin use and survival in patients with cutaneous melanoma and diabetes
CONCLUSIONS: Metformin use was associated with improved OS in patients with CM and diabetes regardless of timing (pre-, post- or peridiagnostic use) and followed a dose-response pattern. However, further research regarding the underlying mechanisms is warranted.PMID:36689497 | DOI:10.1093/bjd/ljac003

Fight Aging! Newsletter, August 8th 2022
In conclusion, aging research will benefit from a better definition of how specific regulators map onto age-dependent change, considered on a phenotype-by-phenotype basis. Resolving some of these key questions will shed more light on how tractable (or intractable) the biology of aging is. Effects of diabetes type 2 and metformin treatment in Swedish patients with colorectal cancer
World J Gastroenterol. 2022 May 21;28(19):2148-2151. doi: 10.3748/wjg.v28.i19.2148.ABSTRACTThe association between type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM) and colorectal cancer (CRC) has been thoroughly investigated and reports have demonstrated that the risk of CRC is increased in DM patients. The association between DM and the survival of patients with CRC is controversial. Evidence suggests that metformin with its anti-inflammatory effects is a protective factor against the development of CRC among DM patients and that metformin therapy is associated with a better prognosis in patients with DM. In our cohort, we did not find any ...
