Women Health. 2023 Sep 14;63(8):658-668. doi: 10.1080/03630242.2023.2255289. Epub 2023 Sep 19.ABSTRACTPrimary dysmenorrhea (PD) has a significant impact on women's lives, especially among young women who miss school and work due to painful periods. Experiences and how women manage PD have been explored to some extent, but the evidence has not been systematically collated and reviewed to allow health professionals to better understand women's experiences of and perceptions about PD. Hence, we aim to synthesize the qualitative evidence related to women's experiences of PD and associated symptoms. For this purpose, seven data...

Rare Case of Chronic Unreduced Shoulder Dislocation: A Case Report and Literature Review
CONCLUSION: Because the patient was uninsured and did not have the necessary financial resources, she was unable to receive a shoulder reduction. These barriers often contribute to the misdiagnosis and increase morbidity associated with this pathology. Exercise therapy was not advised out of concern for further structural damage and neurovascular compromise. The recommended management is with topical pain creams and corticosteroid injections as directed by their primary care. Clinicians working with this population should be aware of the diagnosis, both typical and urgent features, complications, and the standard of care i...

The effects of a mobile app-delivered intervention in people with symptomatic hand osteoarthritis: a pragmatic randomized controlled trial
CONCLUSIONS: A mobile app-delivered intervention is effective for improving hand function, and better than usual care for upper limb function and pain. Further research is warranted to understand the impact of mobile health (mHealth) in people with hand OA.CLINICAL REHABILITATION IMPACT: mHealth interventions are a feasible and secure multimodal delivery approach in older adults with hand OA in rural primary care setting. Baseline pain and upper limb function might predict functional hand outcomes.PMID:36633498 | DOI:10.23736/S1973-9087.22.07744-9

The Prevalence of Chronic Pain in the Adult Population in Israel: An Internet-Based Survey
CONCLUSIONS: This is the first internet survey conducted in Israel to estimate the incidence of CP, and the high CP prevalence documented is in agreement with previous reports from Europe and the USA. It also reaffirms the widespread existence of multifocal or widespread pain in clinical chronic pain and the correlation between pain intensity, impact on patients' quality of life and disability, and pain intractability. These data reaffirm the similarly major health burden CP presents across different countries and cultures.PMID:36247105 | PMC:PMC9553676 | DOI:10.1155/2022/3903720

Subungual hematoma: nail bed repair or nail trephination? A systematic review
ConclusionsWith our review, we can determine more accurate recommendations regarding the possible treatment for ungual complex injuries with subungual hematomas. In this sense, nail trephination alone is recommended whenever possible and nail removal with matrix repair is better when there is fracture or hematoma covers greater than 50%. In addition, small non-painful bruises do not require intervention, as knowing that it is incorporated into the nail and progressively migrates to the free edge of the nail plate.Level of evidence: Not ratable.
