Coronary Heart Disease, Peripheral Arterial Disease, and Stroke in Familial Hypercholesterolaemia: Insights From the SAFEHEART Registry (Spanish Familial Hypercholesterolaemia Cohort Study).
CONCLUSIONS: The prevalence of ASCVD is higher, and the involvement of the arterial territories is different in FH patients when compared with their unaffected relatives. Age, male sex, increased body mass index, hypertension, type 2 diabetes mellitus, smoking habit, and lipoprotein(a) >50 mg/dL were independently associated to ASCVD. Clinical profile and outcomes in octogenarians with atrial fibrillation: A community-based study in a specific European health care area
Age increases risk of stroke and bleeding. Clinical trial data have had relatively low proportions of elderly subjects. We sought to study a Spanish population of octogenarians with atrial fibrillation (AF) by combining different sources of electronic clinical records from an area where all medical centres utilized electronic health record systems.

Distribution of lipoprotein (a) in a population with cardiovascular events or dyslipidaemia
Aim: High level of lipoprotein(a) has been demonstrated to be an independent cardiovascular risk factor. However epidemiological data about Lp(a) levels in different patient cohorts are scarce. We aim to describe values of Lp(a) in a population of northern Spain with high cardiovascular risk (stroke or acute myocardial infarction) or dyslipidaemia.

Patients ’ Priorities for Oral Anticoagulation Therapy in Non-valvular Atrial Fibrillation: a Multi-criteria Decision Analysis
DiscussionAlthough the relative impact of convenience on therapy value is small, patients have different preferences for options within convenience criteria. Besides considerations on safety and effectiveness, physicians should also discuss attributes of convenience with patients, as it can be assumed that alignment to patient preferences in drug prescription and better patient education could result in higher adherence.
