The Effect of a Cancer History on Patients with Acute Myocardial Infarction After Percutaneous Coronary Intervention
Int Heart J. 2021 Mar 17. doi: 10.1536/ihj.20-452. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTThe effect of a history of cancer on the prognosis of patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) is poorly understood. From the Osaka Acute Coronary Insufficiency Study (OACIS) registry in Osaka, Japan, we enrolled the case data of a total of 3499 patients with AMI treated with PCI between 1998 and 2014, of whom 462 had a cancer history (cancer group, 13.2%) and 3037 did not (non-cancer group, 86.8%). All of the cases were followed for up to five years from discharge. The Kaplan-Meier curve and...

Prospective multicenter registry of hybrid coronary artery revascularization combined with non-saphenous vein graft surgical bypass and percutaneous coronary intervention using everolimus eluting metallic stents (PRIDE-METAL study)
This study aimed to investigate a 1-year clinical follow-up of a prospective multicenter registry of HCR combined with non-saphenous vein graft surgical bypass and PCI using everolimus-eluting metallic stents (the PRIDE-METAL study). From June 2016 to June 2018, a total of 54 patients with multivessel coronary disease from six Japanese institutes were enrolled in this study. The primary endpoint of the study was the occurrence of major adverse cardiovascular event (MACE; all-cause death, myocardial infarction, stroke, and repeat revascularization) at 1 year. Three patients declined before complete HCR, and two patients wer...

The Influence of Eicosapentaenoic Acid to Arachidonic Acid Ratio on Long-term Cardiovascular Events Following Percutaneous Coronary Intervention
Conclusion A low EPA/AA ratio was associated with long-term adverse cardiovascular events in Japanese patients with coronary artery disease.PMID:34148960 | DOI:10.2169/internalmedicine.7336-21

One-Year Outcome After Percutaneous Coronary Intervention for Acute Coronary Syndrome - An Analysis of 20,042 Patients From a Japanese Nationwide Registry
CONCLUSIONS: The results from our ACS hospital survivor PCI database suggest the need to improve care for the acute myocardial infarction population to lessen the burden of 30-day mortality due to ACS, heart failure, and sudden cardiac death, as well as 1-year ischemic stroke and heart failure events.PMID:34162778 | DOI:10.1253/circj.CJ-21-0098

Cost-effectiveness of follow-up invasive coronary angiography after percutaneous coronary stenting: a real-world observational cohort study in Japan
Conclusions FUICA increased the costs but did not improve clinical benefits. Thus, FUICA is not economically more attractive than CF alone. Trial registration number UMIN000039768.
