Eur J Ophthalmol. 2022 Jan 25:11206721211073402. doi: 10.1177/11206721211073402. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTDescribe drug utilisation and clinical outcomes of intravitreal anti-VEGF drug and dexamethasone use in the real-world setting in Southern Italy using data from multi-centre study of retinal disease. Clinical data of retinal disease patients treated with anti-VEGF drugs and dexamethasone implant in 6 out-patient ophthalmology centres from Southern Italy were collected by means of an electronic case report form. Patients receiving at least one intravitreal injection/implant of the study drugs were followed for up t...

Real-Life Management of Central and Branch Retinal Vein Occlusion: A Seven-Year Follow-Up Study
Thromb Haemost. 2021 Mar 11. doi: 10.1055/s-0041-1725197. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTRetinal vein occlusion is the second most common retinal vascular pathology after diabetic retinopathy and a major cause of vision impairment. Nowadays, both central retinal vein occlusion (CRVO) and branch retinal vein occlusion (BRVO) can be well-managed by intravitreal treatments. However, considering the long-life expectance of the patients, few data are present in the literature about the very long-term outcome of CRVO and BRVO. The present study was an interventional, retrospective analysis of the morphological and functional long...

Transient blindness associated with mild encephalitis/encephalopathy with a reversible splenial lesion (MERS): a case report and review of literature
ConclusionTransient blindness was reported as an initial symptom of MERS in a few children. To date, there is no evidence of effective treatment methods. Nonetheless, MERS diagnosis provides pediatricians with valuable prognostic information in order to reassure patients and their families about the good outcome of this disease.
