Impact of Drug-Eluting Stent-associated Coronary Artery Spasm on 3-Year Clinical Outcomes: A Propensity Score Matching Analysis
CONCLUSION: In this study, DES associated CAS was associated with higher incidence of diffuse spasm, ST-T change and adverse 3-year clinical outcomes. Special caution should be exercised in this particular subset of patients.PMID:35576993 | DOI:10.1016/j.ihj.2022.05.002

Pseudoaneurysm of cavernosal artery presenting as priapism in a 7-year-old boy
Pavai Arunachalam, Elango Swamiappan, Mathew Cherian, Nitish Rajakamar JayaharanJournal of Indian Association of Pediatric Surgeons 2021 26(6):445-447 Priapism due to pseudoaneurysm of the cavernosal artery is very rare. Herein, we describe the magnetic resonance imaging and digital subtraction angiographic findings of pseudoaneurysm in the right corpus cavernosum in a 7-year-old boy who presented with pain in the penis and lower abdomen and priapism with an obscure history of trauma. This was managed by endovascular embolization of the aneurysm. One-year follow-up has shown him to be normal without any symptoms and normal erection.

Trigeminal Neuralgia from an Arteriovenous Malformation of the Trigeminal Root Entry Zone with a Flow-Related Feeding Artery Aneurysm: The Role of a Combined Endovascular and & #8220;Tailored & #8221; Surgical Treatment
Kuntal K Das, Jaskaran S Gosal, Kumar Ashish, Anish Gandhi, Awadhesh K Jaiswal, Sanjay BehariNeurology India 2021 69(3):744-747 Idiopathic trigeminal neuralgia (TN) due to an embedded arteriovenous malformation (AVM) on the trigeminal root entry zone (REZ) is rare but a potentially challenging condition to manage. Herein, we report such a case with an additional unruptured aneurysm on the feeding artery and highlight the role of a multimodality approach to their management. A 50-year-old female presented with drug-resistant right-sided trigeminal neuralgia for one year. The magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) suggested a pos...

Identification of culprit vessel from ECG
Identification of culprit vessel or infarct artery localization from ECG is useful during primary angioplasty. The initial diagnostic angiogram shot is taken in the artery which is not the culprit vessel, with a diagnostic catheter. Guide catheter is used for diagnostic shot in the suspected culprit vessel after that. This saves time during primary angioplasty. Have a look at the ECG below: Inferior wall infarction It shows show ST segment elevation in leads II, III and aVF of about 3mm. ST segment depression is seen in leads I, aVL and V1 to V5. Overall features are suggestive of hyperacute phase of inferior wall myocard...

Isolated Cervical Pain Revealing a Common Carotid Artery Dissection in a Child Following a Minor Trauma: A First Pediatric Case Report and a Review of the Literature
Conclusion: The diagnosis of cervical artery dissections remains a challenge because of its variable clinical presentation. It should be suspected in the context of neck trauma and treatment should be initiated rapidly to reduce the risk of ischemic stroke.

A comparative assessment of Dorsal radial artery access versus classical radial artery access for percutaneous coronary angiography-a randomized control trial (DORA trial)
CONCLUSION: So both techniques have pros and coins and it is the discretion of interventionists to adopt which technique.PMID:33189208 | PMC:PMC7670258 | DOI:10.1016/j.ihj.2020.06.002

Blindness Following Carotid Artery Stenting Due to Ocular Hyperperfusion - Report and Review of Literature
We present a 65-year-old male who developed an ipsilateral red eye with visual loss following carotid artery stenting. There was a past history of recurrent right middle cereberal artery (MCA) territory embolic infarcts and recurrent trasient episodes of vision loss in the right eye. Flow reversal was noted in the ophthalmic artery on Transcranial doppler (TCD). Digital subtraction angiography (DSA) showed more than 95% stenosis in right internal carotid artery (ICA) ostium and completely occluded left ICA. Following carotid artery, stenting patient developed severe headache and right eye pain along with vision ...

What Are the Main Acyanotic Congenital Heart Diseases?
Discussion Congenital heart diseases (CHD) are malformations of the heart and great vessels. It occurs in about 5-8/1000 live births. Cyanotic congenital heart disease is often noted perinatally because of cyanosis, respiratory distress and/or poor feeding or other distress type problems. A review can be found here. Acyanotic congenital heart disease (ACHD) can present at birth but often is seen in older children or adults unless the lesions are severe, especially obstructive lesions. Severe lesions may also cause cyanosis and distress type problems in patients also. Shunting lesions cause problems by diverting blood flo...

Percutaneous coronary intervention for coronary allograft vasculopathy with drug-eluting stent in Indian subcontinent: Issues in diagnosis and management
Mohammed Shakawat Alam, Arvind Sahadev Singh, Sreeja Pavithran, Vijayakumar Subban, Ajit Mullasari, Kothandam SivakumarAnnals of Pediatric Cardiology 2020 13(3):234-237 Coronary allograft vasculopathy fails to give a warning anginal pain due to denervation and often presents with acute coronary syndrome, ventricular dysfunction, or sudden cardiac death. Early diagnosis in a pediatric patient is difficult as it involves invasive coronary angiography or advanced imaging such as intravascular ultrasound or optical coherence tomography. A 12-year-old boy developed acute coronary syndrome, elevated troponins, and right bundle ...

Interrupted aortic arch: A case report
We present a case of a 52-year-old woman accessed to the emergency department for chest and right upper limb pain that increased in the last days. She underwent a computed tomography angiogram showing interruption of the aortic arch, distal to left subclavian artery origin, large bilateral collateral vessels connecting subclavian arteries to descending aorta with multiple voluminous aneurysms, a bicuspid aortic valve, dilatated tubular segment of ascending thoracic aorta, and a suspected atrial septal defect. A nonsystematic literature review regarding these conditions has been performed.
