Carotid artery stenting using a 7 French Optimo balloon guide catheter combined with a distal filter
CONCLUSIONS: The 7 F Optimo is the smallest BGC to achieve CAS using a proximal protection system. The combined use of a 7 F Optimo BGC and a distal filter is effective for navigating the BGC and distal embolic protection.PMID:37322893 | DOI:10.1177/15910199231162493

MRI dedicated to the emergency department for diplopia or dizziness: a cost-effectiveness analysis
ConclusionEasy access to MRI in the ED for posterior circulation stroke-like symptoms must be considered a relevant approach to help physicians for an appropriate and rapid diagnostic with reduction of costs.Trial registrationNCT03660852Key Points• A dedicated MRI in the ED for diplopia or dizziness may be considered an efficient strategy improving diagnostic performance, reducing physicians’ decision time, and decreasing hospital costs.• This strategy supports clinical decision-making with early treatment and management of patients with posterior circulation-like symptoms in the ED.• There is 71% chance that the M...

Non-ischemic cerebral enhancing lesions after thrombectomy: a multicentric retrospective French national registry
This study provides evidence that NICE lesions following MT are a possible rare complication with a similar pr esentation as previously described following endovascular aneurysm treatment. Both radiologists and neurologists should be aware of this adverse event and make use of MRI contrast agents in case of unexplained symptoms/images during follow-up after MT.

Safety and Efficacy of Cangrelor in Acute Stroke Treated with Mechanical Thrombectomy: Endovascular Treatment of Ischemic Stroke Registry and Meta-analysis INTERVENTIONAL
CONCLUSIONS: Cangrelor offers promising safety and efficacy profiles, especially considering the complex endovascular reperfusion procedures in which it is usually applied. Further large prospective data are required to confirm these findings.

Global research trends in COVID-19 with MRI and PET/CT: a scoping review with bibliometric and network analyses
ConclusionCOVID-19 pandemic is still spreading worldwide, and the knowledge about its different facets continues advancing. MRI and PET/CT are being used in more than 50% of the selected studies; research trends span seven categories, no only the diagnostic but others like socio-economic impact and pathogenesis Developed countries had an advantage by having hospitals with more resources, including MRI and PET/CT facilities in the same institution to supplement basic assessment in patients with COVID-19.

A Multicenter Preliminary Study of Cangrelor following Thrombectomy Failure for Refractory Proximal Intracranial Occlusions INTERVENTIONAL
CONCLUSIONS: Cangrelor seems to be as safe as glycoprotein IIb/IIIa inhibitors for managing refractory intracranial occlusion and leads to satisfactory brain reperfusion. Cangrelor is a promising agent in this setting, and additional studies are warranted to confirm our findings.

Abstract No. 550 The impact of stay-at-home orders on code stroke activations and mechanical thrombectomy
Stay-at-home orders and additional fears of the COVID-19 pandemic led to a decrease in the presentation of patients with stroke symptoms in emergency departments across some regions in the U.S. but without a similar decline in mechanical thrombectomy (MT) (1). However, a significant decrease of MT cases was observed in other countries such as France (2). It is unknown if the same phenomenon was observed across the entire U.S. The purpose of this study was to review the volumes of code stroke activation, emergent large vessel occlusion (ELVO) activation, and MT cases in a Stroke Belt region during statewide stay-at-home mea...

03:09 PM Abstract No. 161 6-French/088 distal guide sheath access into the petrocavernous internal carotid artery to optimize mechanical thrombectomy
We describe a novel technique using a flexible 6French/088 distal guide sheath (DGS), defined as advancement into the petrocavernous internal carotid artery (ICA), to limit antegrade flow without a BGC and reduce the distance/tortuosity for clot extraction.

Mechanical thrombectomy of M2 occlusions with distal access catheters using ADAPT
Conclusion: DACs can safely be used for mechanical thrombectomy of acute M2 occlusions by the ADAPT approach. Their use alone can be a high efficacious treatment of distal intracranial thromboembolic occlusions.
