Outcomes of Frontal Sinus Stenting With Steroid Impregnated Microsponge Versus Steroid-Eluting Implant
CONCLUSION: FSO patency for both stents was similar, although TICP had significantly lower costs per unit. Additional comparative trials may be helpful for guiding clinicians on the appropriate clinical situations for the use of these devices.PMID:37408359 | DOI:10.1177/19458924231186901

In general, this patient group has a high prevalence of polyposis, asthma, inhalant allergy, ASA sensitivity, and elevated disease burden as measured by objective measures. The polyp phenotype signifies statistically higher prevalence of associated comorbidities and greater objective disease severity. The presence of asthma, inhalant allergy, and ASA sensitivity also predicts statistically higher disease burden. The endoscopy and CT scores statistically correlate with the number of previous su...

Pediatric Eosinophilic Esophagitis Is Associated With Increased Lamina Propria Immunoglobulin G4-Positive Plasma Cells
Conclusions: We demonstrate that active esophagitis in pediatric EoE patients is associated with elevated levels of IgG4-positive plasma cells, which was more significant in EoE patients with a documented food allergy. Our study also adds to the growing literature that EoE may involve more than just an exaggerated TH2 immune response.

Characterization of a group of children with eosinophilic esophagitis in Cali, Colombia
CONCLUSIONS: The majority of patients with EoE were females. The most frequent symptom was abdominal pain. Endoscopic abnormalities were also observed frequently, and the prevalence of other allergic diseases (especially rhinitis) and allergenic sensitization (especially to mites) was high.PMID:37169558 | DOI:10.15586/aei.v51i3.729
