Harnessing the Peterson Reaction for the Stereospecific Synthesis of Z-Vinyl Ethers
Chemistry. 2023 Sep 21:e202302708. doi: 10.1002/chem.202302708. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTVinyl ethers are valuable synthetic intermediates which are also found as natural products, including aflatoxins, rifamycins and plasmalogens. The latter are ubiquitous phospholipids in human cells and contain a vinyl ether moiety with specifically Z configuration. Although numerous methods are available for synthesis of vinyl ethers, there is a lack of methods for obtaining Z isomers of molecules of the type RCH=CHOR' that are applicable to plasmalogens. A variant of the Peterson reaction is described that generates such molecule...

Potassium stearate doped PEDOT:PSS improves the performance of inverted perovskite solar cells
Chem. Commun., 2023, Advance Article DOI: 10.1039/D3CC03539E, CommunicationYing Li, Yanqing Yao, Yuanlin Yang, Xusheng Zhao, Wan Cheng, Banghui Chen, Lijia Chen, Ping Li, Shuhui Tang This work studied the doping of KSt in the PEDOT:PSS layer of devices ITO/K-PEDOT:PSS/perovskite/PCBM/BCP/Ag. The results showed that the doping of KSt improved the conductivity and charge transfer ability, thereby enhancing the PCE of inverted PSCs. A luminescent MOF-based nonenzymatic probe for colorimetric/photothermal/fluorescence triple-mode assay of uric acid in body fluids
Talanta. 2023 Sep 15;267:125201. doi: 10.1016/j.talanta.2023.125201. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTMonitoring the levels of uric acid (UA) in body fluids is of great significance in the clinical diagnosis and therapy of related diseases. Herein, a novel nanocomposite R6G@Fe-MOF based nonenzymatic probe is presented to provide a ratiometric fluorescent, colorimetric, and photothermal triple read-out signal for the visual, sensitive, and convenient assay of UA. The framework structure of the in situ encapsulated R6G@Fe-MOF is found to decompose upon the addition of UA, resulting in the reduction of Fe3+ to Fe2+. This reducti...

Ion-modulated interfacial fluorescence in droplet microfluidics using an ionophore-doped oil
Chem Commun (Camb). 2023 Sep 18. doi: 10.1039/d3cc02945j. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTFluorescence at the oil-water interface is used for chemical sensing in droplet microfluidics. Potassium ions in aqueous droplets are extracted into oil segments doped with an ionophore, a cation exchanger, and a cationic dye to expel the dye. When a low concentration of dye with a balanced solubility is used, it actively accumulates at the thin interface between oil and water instead of getting dissolved in the aqueous phase. The interfacial fluorescence is monitored distinct from the fluorescence in the oil sensor and the aqueous samp...

Boosting the "Solid-Liquid-Solid" Conversion Reaction via Bifunctional Carbonate-Based Electrolyte for Ultra-long-life Potassium-Sulfur Batteries
Angew Chem Int Ed Engl. 2023 Sep 14:e202307728. doi: 10.1002/anie.202307728. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTPotassium-sulfur (K-S) batteries have attracted wide attention owing to their high theoretical energy density and low cost. However, the intractable shuttle effect of K polysulfides results in poor cyclability of K-S batteries, which severely limits their practical application. Herein, a bifunctional concentrated electrolyte (3 mol L-1 potassium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide in ethylene carbonate (EC)) with high ionic conductivity and low viscosity is developed to regulate the dissolution behavior of polysulfides...
