Systemic Administration of < em > Porphyromonas Gingivalis < /em > Lipopolysaccharide Induces Glial Activation and Depressive-Like Behavior in Rats
CONCLUSIONS: The major result of this study is that a repeated systemic administration of Pg-LPS caused depressive-like behavior and both microglial and astrocytic activation in rats. This finding may comprise biological evidence of a causal relationship between periodontitis and MD.PMID:37735127 | DOI:10.31083/j.jin2205120

Role of TRPV1 in electroacupuncture-mediated signal to the primary sensory cortex during regulation of the swallowing function
CONCLUSION: The TRPV1 at CV23 after EA treatment might play a key role in mediating local blood perfusion but was not involved in transferring EA signals to the central nervous system (CNS). These findings collectively suggested that TRPV1 may be one of the important regulators involved in the mechanism of EA treatment for improving swallowing function in PSD.PMID:37718934 | DOI:10.1111/cns.14457

Role of Necroptosis, a Regulated Cell Death, in Seizure and Epilepsy
Neurochem Res. 2023 Aug 30. doi: 10.1007/s11064-023-04010-x. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTEpilepsy is a chronic neurological disease that is characterized by spontaneous and recurrent seizures. Regulated cell death is a controlled process and has been shown to be involved in neurodegenerative diseases. Necroptosis is a type of regulated cell death, and its association with epilepsy has been documented. Necroptosis signaling can be divided into two pathways: canonical and non-canonical pathways. Inhibition of caspase-8, dimerization of receptor-interacting protein kinase 1 (RIP1) and RIP3, activation of mixed-lineage kinas...
