Racial disparities in food allergy anaphylaxis education and management among a nationally representative sample
Evidence suggests that food allergy (FA) is disproportionately burdensome among racial/ethnic minority populations. More data are needed to evaluate disparities in access to high-quality medical care and effective daily management.

Food allergy knowledge among college students majoring in food and nutrition, nursing, and pre-medicine
People with food allergies are often managed and treated for allergic reactions by the multidisciplinary health care professionals, including physicians, nurses, and dietitians. Research has revealed that these health care professionals do not have adequate training and proficiency in the management of food allergies.1,2 To assess the food allergy knowledge from students who intend to become these health care professionals, we conducted a survey study with a sample obtained in a regional higher education institute located in Midwestern US.

Implementation of a problem-based, gamified immunology curriculum increased engagement and comprehension in Allergy-Immunology fellows-in-training
Basic science medical knowledge is a key American Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) milestone for Allergy-Immunology programs. Lecture-based learning has been associated with lower levels of knowledge retention, engagement, and exam performance compared to active learning methods, yet basic science immunology is predominantly taught using lecture-based formats. As such, an interactive, problem-based immunology curriculum was implemented using adult learning theory.

Implementing Penicillin Allergy Education for Pediatric Residents: A Quality Improvement Approach
Despite increasing recognition surrounding the importance of de-labeling erroneous penicillin allergies, formal curriculum is lacking during residency training. Our project aim is to develop a formal curriculum to improve education of pediatric trainees to better assess and ideally de-label penicillin allergy in the primary care setting.

Diagnostics and Prevention of Occupational Allergy in Hairdressers
This study aims to provide an overview on current knowledge on occupational allergic diseases in hairdressers and up-to-date perspectives of prevention.Recent FindingsHand eczema (dermatitis) is common in hairdressers, often caused by contact allergy to one or multiple small molecules (haptens) used, e.g.,  for dyeing, bleaching, and waving/relaxing or by ancillary substances such as preservatives. Hairdressers, compared to other patch-tested patients, have an up to fivefold increased risk to be found sensitized, e.g., againstp-phenylenediamine, ammonium persulfate, and glyceryl thioglycolate. Some of these small molecul...
