IgE mediated food allergy in Turkey: different spectrum, similar outcome
CONCLUSIONS: The FA spectrum of Turkish children and adolescents differs from many regions of the world with high rates of TN (hazelnut, Anacardia nuts), seed (sesame, pumpkin seed) and lentils, and low rates of soy, peanut and seafood allergies. However, resolution, emergence and persistence of allergies and comorbidities are similar, which points to the limited role of the environment in the outcome.PMID:34449137 | DOI:10.24953/turkjped.2021.04.002

Allergic diseases in the elderly population: a single-center experience
CONCLUSION: Diagnosis becomes difficult due to the perception that allergic diseases mainly affect young people. Clinical symptoms are not evident in the elderly and age-related difficulties are encountered in diagnostic tests. There is a need to develop specific guidelines for the diagnosis of allergic diseases in the elderly.PMID:34284535 | DOI:10.3906/sag-2104-55

Prevalence of allergic disorders and risk factors associated with food allergy in Turkish preschoolers.
CONCLUSIONS: Although the introduction of egg-white into infant diet at 6-12 months of life appeared as an independent risk for any food allergy, none of the patients developed anaphylaxis. Age at symptom onset and outgrowing food allergy were similar compared to those introduced egg-white after 12 months. We recommend promoting exclusive breastfeeding during the first 6 months of life, and avoidance of prolonged restrictive diets for children with food allergy. In a 17-4 vote (with one abstention) the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) vaccine advisory committee recommended that Pfizer/BioNTech’s COVID-19 vaccine should be distributed to the American public.
