Risk of stroke following antivenom use after venomous snakebite: correspondence
We read with great interest the epidemiological study by Hunget al.1 on the risk of stroke with antivenom use after venomous snakebite in Taiwan. According to the national medical claims data, the authors provide us with useful information and disclose that venomous snakebite is associated with an increased risk of hemorrhagic stroke after the use of antivenom after using the matching propensity score in relevant measurable covariates. Evaluation of an online intervention for improving stroke survivors ’ health-related quality of life: A randomised controlled trial
ConclusionsThe P2S online healthy lifestyle program improved stroke survivors ’ self-reported global ratings of HRQoL (as measured by EQ-VAS) at 6-month follow-up. Plant-based diets and incident cardiovascular disease and all-cause mortality in African Americans: A cohort study
ConclusionsIn this study of black Americans, we observed that, unlike in prior studies, greater adherence to a plant-based diet was not associated with CVD or all-cause mortality.

Clinical, socioeconomic, and behavioural factors at age 50 years and risk of cardiometabolic multimorbidity and mortality: A cohort study
ConclusionsThe importance of specific midlife factors in disease progression, from disease-free state to single disease, multimorbidity, and death, varies depending on the disease stage. While clinical risk factors at age 50 determine the risk of incident cardiometabolic disease in a disease-free population, midlife socioeconomic and behavioural factors are stronger predictors of progression to multimorbidity and mortality in people with cardiometabolic disease.

Plasma stem cell factor levels are associated with risk of cardiovascular disease and death
ConclusionsThis prospective population‐based study demonstrates that subjects with high levels of SCF have a lower risk of cardiovascular events and death.
