Validation of Safer and Faster CT Imaging Technique to Assess Clot Size and Vessel Diameter in Acute Ischemic Stroke Interventions (P5.274)
Conclusions:Thin-sliced reconstructions of standard cranial nonenhanced CT raw data can be reliably used to detect and measure the thrombus size in LVOs. It also reliably measures the vessel diameter, making intervention planning possible. Larger multicenter trials are needed to validate our data.Disclosure: Dr. Kulhari has nothing to disclose. Glomerular Filtration Rate is Associated with Hemorrhagic Transformation in Acute Ischemic Stroke Patients without Thrombolytic Therapy.
Conclusions: The present study strongly showed that lower GFR is an independently predictor of HT; in addition, large infarct volume, AF, and HA are also important risks of HT for AIS patients without TT, which offered a practical information that risk factors should be paid attention or eliminated to prevent HT for stroke patients though the level of evidence seems to be unstable. Acute Management of Ischemic Stroke During Pregnancy.
Abstract Acute stroke in pregnancy can be devastating. Although neurologists will at some point be involved in the management, most of these patients are likely to first be evaluated by an obstetric care provider. It is, therefore, important for obstetric care providers to have an understanding of the presentation and management of stroke, particularly in the initial period when the window of opportunity for therapy is critical. Once suspected, a head computed tomography (CT) without contrast media should be performed without delay to rule out a hemorrhagic component. Patients presenting within 4.5 hours of sympto...

Thrombolysis with rhPro-UK 3 to 6 hours after embolic stroke in rat.
Conclusions: RhPro-UK had an obvious therapeutic effect on ischemic stroke caused by thrombosis, and could be started within 4.5 h TTW with less side effects of cerebral hemorrhage than that of UK. PMID: 31584350 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

2-1-2 stroke microsurgical thrombectomy technique as a tertiary/salvage treatment option
CONCLUSIONS: 2-1-2 MST technique can be rapidly and efficaciously performed in a systemized manner offering a tertiary or salvage technique for acute stroke treatment. Specific microsurgical training is mandatory to accomplish this treatment and larger studies are necessary to confirm our hypothesis.PMID:35147401 | DOI:10.23736/S0390-5616.21.05480-1
