Six ‐month outcomes in postapproval HeartMate3 patients: A single‐center US experience
ConclusionIn this single-center study, the real-world 6-month survival in the postapproval group was comparable to the trial results. Further studies are needed to monitor long-term outcomes.

Dual versus triple antithrombotic therapy after percutaneous coronary intervention: the prospective multicentre WOEST 2 Study
CONCLUSIONS: Dual antithrombotic therapy is associated with a substantially lower risk of clinically relevant bleeding without a statistically significant penalty in ischaemic events.PMID:35370126 | DOI:10.4244/EIJ-D-21-00703

Temporal patterns, characteristics, and predictors of clinical outcomes in patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention for stent thrombosis
CONCLUSIONS: PCI for ST has declined in frequency over a 7-year period, with most procedures performed for early ST. Among the different times of ST onset, only early ST is associated with worse clinical outcomes after PCI. Routine use of intravascular imaging and newer P2Y12 inhibitors could further improve outcomes in this high-risk procedural group.PMID:35599596 | DOI:10.4244/EIJ-D-22-00049

Apixaban for Anticoagulation after Robotic Mitral Valve Repair
CONCLUSIONS: Anticoagulation with apixaban after minimally invasive robotic MVRep is safe and has similar rates of bleeding and thromboembolism compared to patients treated with warfarin.PMID:35973484 | DOI:10.1016/j.athoracsur.2022.07.045

Perioperative and long ‐term outcomes of Ross versus mechanical aortic valve replacement
ConclusionsIn this mid-term propensity score-matched analysis, the Ross procedure offers similar perioperative outcomes, freedom from reintervention or valve dysfunction as well as overall survival compared to traditional mAVR but without the morbidity associated with long-term anticoagulation. At specialized centers with sufficient expertize, the Ross procedure should be strongly considered in select patients requiring aortic valve replacement.

Proximalization of Frozen Elephant Trunk Procedure: Zone 0 or 1 versus Zone 2 or 3 Arch Repair
Conclusion Compared with zone 2/3, proximalization of FET using zone 0/1 for anastomosis was associated with better early outcomes and comparable rates of midterm aorta-related events. To substantiate its use, more research on this approach is required. Subsequent cardiac surgery after transcatheter aortic valve implantation: Indications and outcomes
ConclusionsSubsequent open-cardiac surgery after TAVI is rare, but may urgently become necessary due to TAVI related complications or progressing other cardiac pathologies. Despite a substantial early attrition rate clinical outcome is acceptable and a relevant number of these high-risk patients can be discharged even after emergency conversions. The option of subsequent surgical conversion remains.

Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation for postcardiotomy cardiogenic shock after valve replacement
CONCLUSIONS: Outcomes of ECMO in patients with prosthetic valves are comparable between bioprosthetic and mechanical valves. Thrombosis might occur in both valve types and was associated with high mortality. ECMO could affect the long-term durability of the bioprosthetic valves.PMID:36645201 | DOI:10.1177/02676591231152723
