Silk Road Medical upsizes IPO
Silk Road Medical today boosted the size of its pending initial public offering to as much as $120 million. When it registered the IPO in March, Silk Road said it could fetch as much as $86 million. But last week the Sunnyvale, Calif.-based company cut the range, saying it planned to float nearly 4.7 million shares at $15 to $17 apiece, for gross proceeds of $70.5 million to $79.9 million. New Grants will Accelerate Clinical Trials in Rare Neurological Disorders
Two new grants from the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) will pave the way for new treatments for neuronal ceroid lipofuscinoses and Charcot Marie Tooth diseases, two groups of rare neurological disorders. The funding, which totals $10 million, will support new research programs led by University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC) neurologists Erika Augustine, M.D., and David Herrmann, M.B.B.Ch., and involve an international team of scientists and clinicians.

Ablation Versus Medical Therapy for Atrial Fibrillation in the Elderly: A Propensity Score-Matched Comparison.

Retrospective single ‐centre experience on the effect of the DAWN trial on the utilisation pattern, diagnostic yield and accuracy of CT perfusions performed for suspected acute stroke
ConclusionsThe CTP utilisation, particularly in late presenters, has substantially increased since the DAWN trial. This contributes to increasing burden on healthcare services related to the diagnosis and management of stroke.

Dehydration as referral diagnosis to a medical admittance department.
CONCLUSIONS: Suspicion of dehydration is a frequent admittance diagnosis. We suspect that a referral diagnosis of dehydration often reflects an unspecified concern rather than a real suspicion of dehydration. Patients with dehydration had a high in-hospital and six-month mortality, reflecting the severity of this diagnosis. FUNDING: not relevant.
