Relapsed nodular lymphocyte-predominant Hodgkin lymphoma presenting as severe paraneoplastic hepatitis: a case report
ConclusionsNodular lymphocyte-predominant Hodgkin lymphoma may cause paraneoplastic hepatitis. Physicians should be aware of the possibility of this life-threatening presentation and the importance of early liver biopsy and treatment before acute liver failure occurs. Interestingly, paraneoplastic hepatitis did not occur when nodular lymphocyte-predominant Hodgkin lymphoma was first diagnosed and confined to the cervical region, but was the presenting feature of the recurrence below the diaphragm.

Predictors of Suicidal Ideation During Residential Substance Use Treatment
Conclusions: Increasing accessibility to integrated treatments (ie, those that address psychiatric and chronic health conditions) for patients experiencing suicidal ideation may be beneficial in residential SUD treatment settings. Developing predictive models to identify those most at risk of suicidal ideation in real time remains a relevant direction for future work.PMID:37227401 | DOI:10.4088/JCP.22m14611

Adv Exp Med Biol. 2023;1417:185-197. doi: 10.1007/978-981-99-1304-6_13.ABSTRACTThe clinical manifestations of hepatitis E are similar to those of other types of viral hepatitis. While acute hepatitis E is usually self-limited, pregnant women and chronic liver disease patients suffering from acute hepatitis E usually present with severe clinical manifestations that may develop into fulminant hepatic failure. Chronic HEV infection is typically seen in organ transplant patients; most HEV cases are asymptomatic and rarely display jaundice, fatigue, abdominal pain, fever, fatigue, or ascites. The clinical manifestations of HEV ...

Fulminant hepatitis due to spontaneous reactivation of virus B in an immunocompetent patient
We present the case of a 52-year-old woman with a history of HBeAg-negative chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection, viral load (VL) Z+<20,000U.l/ml with no evidence of liver fibrosis and, therefore, untreated. She presented to the emergency department with jaundice, epigastric pain, nausea, and vomiting. On admission, blood analysis revealed ALT 3982U/l, AST 3221U/l, Gamma-GT 80U/l, alkaline phosphatase 252U/l, LDH 960U/l, bilirrubin12.5mg/dl; no elevation of acute phase reactants, 141,000 platelets and coagulopathy with a prothrombin activity of 29%. Abdominal ultrasound showed no relevant findings. The serological ...
