Characterizing the Penumbras of White Matter Hyperintensities and Their Associations With Cognitive Function in Patients With Subcortical Vascular Mild Cognitive Impairment
Conclusion In this study, reduced CBF and FA and increased MD in the inner NAWM layers for both PVWMH and DWMH suggested extensive WM alterations beyond the visible WM lesions commonly observed on clinical MRI of svMCI subjects. CBF penumbras cover more extensive WM at risk than DTI penumbras, suggesting the likelihood that compromised CBF precedes white matter integrity changes, and CBF penumbras may be a potential target for the prevention of further microstructural white matter damage. The imaging parameters investigated, however, did not correlate to cognition. Author Contributions YZ, QX, and XG conceived and desig...

Effects of Riociguat on Right Ventricular Remodelling in Chronic Thromboembolic Pulmonary Hypertension Patients: A Prospective Study
ConclusionsRiociguat treatment was associated with increased RV stroke volume index and trends for improvement in myocardial remodelling in patients with CTEPH.

Effects of Riociguat on Right Ventricular Remodeling in Chronic Thromboembolic Pulmonary Hypertension Patients: A Prospective Study
Conclusions Riociguat treatment was associated with increased RVSVI and trends for improvement in myocardial remodeling in CTEPH patients. A larger clinical study is warranted to observe the therapeutic benefits of riociguat on RV remodeling. Teaser Riociguat is an approved medical treatment for chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH) patients. We studied the effects of riociguat treatment on right ventricular (RV) remodeling by means of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and positron emission tomography (PET). After 6 months of riociguat treatment in 6 CTEPH patients, RV function increased, fibrosis decreased ...
