Prioritizing Quality Measures in Acute Stroke Care : A Cost-Effectiveness Analysis
CONCLUSION: Substantial variation exists in the potential net benefit of quality improvement across AIS quality measures. Benefits were highly concentrated among 5 of 10 measures assessed. Our results can help providers and payers set priorities for quality improvement efforts and value-based payments in AIS care.PRIMARY FUNDING SOURCE: National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke.PMID:37126821 | DOI:10.7326/M22-3186

24-hour ambulatory blood pressure and cryptogenic ischemic stroke in young adults
CONCLUSIONS: Non-dipping patterns of BP were associated with CIS in the absence of a PFO but not in the absence of hypertension. This may reflect differing pathophysiology underlying CIS in patients with versus without a PFO. Due to limitations of the study, results regarding absolute ABP levels should be interpreted with caution.Key MessagesNocturnal non-dipping patterns of blood pressure were associated with cryptogenic ischemic stroke except in participants with a patent foramen ovale and in those without hypertension by any definition, which may indicate differing pathophysiology underlying cryptogenic ischemic stroke ...

Influence of an abnormal ankle-brachial index on ischemic and bleeding events in patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention
CONCLUSIONS: An abnormal ABI is a risk factor for both ischemic and bleeding events after PCI. Our study findings may be helpful in determining the optimal method for secondary prevention after PCI.PMID:37077131 | DOI:10.3904/kjim.2022.348

Comparison of thromboembolic risk scores for evaluating in-hospital events of COVID-19 patients
Conclusion: We showed that m-R2CHA2DS2-VASc and m-ATRIA-HSV scores were better than the rest in predicting mortality among COVID-19 patients.PMID:37038968 | DOI:10.2217/bmm-2022-0546
