Non-communicable diseases in the southwest of Iran: profile and baseline data from the Shahrekord PERSIAN Cohort Study
CONCLUSIONS: The SCS provides a platform for epidemiological studies that will be useful to better control NCDs in the southwest of Iran and to foster research collaboration. Conclusion and Perspectives Gliomas are the most prevalent primary brain cancer in adults and include a broad category of tumors including astrocytoma, oligodendroglioma, and GBM. Risk of Coronary Heart Disease and Ischemic Stroke Incidence in Gastric Cancer Survivors: A Nationwide Study in Korea.
CONCLUSIONS: CHD and ischemic stroke risk decreased after gastrectomy. The amount of weight loss and accompanying metabolic changes seemed to mediate the reduction of such risk. Reassessment of cardiovascular risk factors after gastrectomy and consideration of cardiovascular risk in the selection of treatment modality are suggested.
