Conclusions/interpretationThere remains uncertainty about whether metformin reduces risk of cardiovascular disease among patients with type 2 diabetes, for whom it is the recommended first-line drug. Although this is mainly due to absence of evidence, it is unlikely that a definitive placebo-controlled cardiovascular endpoint trial among people with diabetes will be forthcoming. Dietary intake habits and the prevalence of nocturia in Japanese patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus
ConclusionsWe found an inverse association between vegetable intake habit and nocturia in Japanese patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. No data regarding the association between dietary intake and nocturia is available among patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. This study is the first to show a significant inverse association between dietary vegetable intake and nocturia and severe nocturia among Japanese patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Greater macrovascular and microvascular morbidity from type 2 diabetes in Northern compared with Southern China: a cross ‐sectional study
ConclusionsMore macrovascular and microvascular complications were found in Northern compared to Southern patients, and the largest difference also appeared in the younger age groups under 55, which may be meaningful to a screening and treatment strategy according to geographic differences.
