Renal physiology and kidney stones
Conclusions: The occurrence of a kidney stone is associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular events including AMI, death due to CHD,PTCA/CABG and stroke. These data suggest that people with a clinically recognized kidney stone should be followed more closely to evaluate for the possibility of subsequent cardiovascular events -- younger people and women.

Major adverse events, six months after endovascular revascularization for critical limb ischemia in diabetic patients.
CONCLUSION: Based on our findings, it seems that along with current usual therapeutic routines which focus on wound healing and limb salvage, more attention should be paid to simultaneous diagnostic assessments and treatment of cardiovascular disease in this group of patients during short-term follow- up. Conclusion This was a well-designed study which showed that over the course of two years, the risk of another non-fatal or fatal heart attack is reduced in heart attack patients who have preventive stents inserted in narrowed arteries at the same time as a procedure to insert stents into the blocked coronary artery that caused their heart attack. However, an important point to note is that the study results do not apply to all patients who have had a heart attack. Impact of Perioperative Complications After Endovascular Therapy in Diabetic Patients With Critical Limb Ischemia due to Isolated Infrapopliteal Lesions
Conclusion: POCs within 30 days after balloon angioplasty for infrapopliteal disease in diabetics with CLI were more likely to occur in patients with low BMI and tissue loss. POC occurrence was associated with major adverse limb events in follow-up but not with mortality or wound healing.

Age and diabetes mellitus associated with worse outcomes after percutaneous coronary intervention in a multi-ethnic Asian dialysis patient population.
CONCLUSION: Asian dialysis patients who underwent PCI had a two-year MACE rate of 55.8% due to death and AMI. Age, LVEF and diabetes mellitus were significant predictors of mortality at two years. PMID: 32179924 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]
