Not-high before-treatment platelet reactivity in patients with STEMI: prevalence, clinical characteristics, response to therapy and outcomes
In conclusion, a significant proportion of patients presenting with STEMI has a baseline NHPR that is associated with better in-hospital outcomes as compared with patients with HPR. Cardiovascular outcomes at recommended blood pressure targets in middle-aged and elderly patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus compared to all middle-aged and elderly hypertensive study patients with high cardiovascular risk.
CONCLUSION: In the high-risk hypertensive patients of the VALUE trial achieving more frequently BP <140/90 mmHg, but not <130/80 mmHg, showed principally the same protective effect on overall and cause-specific cardiovascular outcomes in patients with diabetes mellitus and in the general high-risk hypertensive population.

CONCLUSION: In mostly elderly high-risk hypertensive patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus participating in the VALUE trial, achieving more frequently BP <140/90 mmHg showed a marked protective effect on overall and all cause-specific cardiovascular outcomes. This was not the case for a more frequent achievement of the more intensive BP target, i.e. <130/80 mmHg.

Predicting Adverse Events beyond Stroke and Bleeding with the ABC-Stroke and ABC-Bleeding Scores in Patients with Atrial Fibrillation: The Murcia AF Project.
CONCLUSION: In AF patients, the ABC-stroke and ABC-bleeding scores demonstrated similar predictive ability for outcomes beyond stroke and bleeding, including MI, acute HF, a composite of cardiovascular events, and all-cause deaths. This is consistent with nonspecificity of biomarkers that predict "sick" patients or poor prognosis overall.

Net clinical benefit of antithrombotic therapy in patients with heart failure and sinus rhythm: A network meta-analysis from 5 clinical trials
Heart failure (HF) is associated with an increased incidence of thromboembolic events. Antithrombotic treatment could reduce the stroke risk, whereas increase the bleeding risk. Whether antithrombotic treatment should be a routine therapy for HF and sinus rhythm (SR) patients remains unanswered.

Coagulation factor VIII: Relationship to Cardiovascular Disease Risk and Whole Genome Sequence and Epigenome-Wide Analysis in African Americans.

Prospective study of plasma high molecular weight kininogen and prekallikrein and incidence of coronary heart disease, ischemic stroke and heart failure
High molecular weight kininogen (HK) and prekallikrein (PK) are proteins in the kallikrein/kinin system of the coagulation cascade. They play an important role in the contact activation system of the intrinsic coagulation pathway, renin-angiotensin activation, and inflammation. Hence these proteins have been posited to affect the occurrence of cardiovascular events and thus to be potential therapeutic targets. Previous case-control studies have provided inconsistent evidence for an association of HK and PK with cardiovascular disease.

Prognostic impact of increased pulse pressure/stroke index in a registry of hypertensive patients: the Campania Salute Network.
