Estimating the economic burden of cardiovascular events in patients receiving lipid-modifying therapy in the UK
Conclusions Revascularisation and myocardial infarction were associated with the highest incremental costs following a CV event. On the basis of real-world data, the economic burden of CV events in the UK is substantial, particularly among those with greater comorbidity burden.

Cost-effectiveness of follow-up invasive coronary angiography after percutaneous coronary stenting: a real-world observational cohort study in Japan
Conclusions FUICA increased the costs but did not improve clinical benefits. Thus, FUICA is not economically more attractive than CF alone. Trial registration number UMIN000039768.

Effectiveness and safety of Shexiang Baoxin Pill (MUSKARDIA) in patients with stable coronary artery disease and concomitant diabetes mellitus: a subgroup analysis of a randomized clinical trial
CONCLUSION: As an add-on to standard therapy, MUSKARDIA shows a trend of reduced MACEs in patients with stable CAD and DM. Furthermore, MUSKARDIA may reduce the frequency of all-cause death, hospitalization, and coronary angioplasty in this population, especially in those with uncontrolled DM.TRIAL REGISTRATION: ChiCTR.org.cn, ChiCTR-TRC-12003513.PMID:36752805 | DOI:10.1097/CM9.0000000000002527

Major Adverse Cardiovascular Events and Mortality in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus Patients After Successful Delivery: A Population-Based Study.
CONCLUSIONS:: Although major adverse cardiovascular events and mortality are rare events in women of reproductive age, the incidence rates have increased approximately 10-fold among lupus women with successful delivery. Clinicians should note the possibility of persisting major adverse cardiovascular events and death in young women with lupus and successful delivery. Thrombus Aspiration in ThrOmbus containing culpRiT lesions in Non-ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction (TATORT-NSTEMI): study protocol for a randomized controlled trial
Background: Current guidelines recommend thrombus aspiration in patients with ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI); however, there are insufficient data to unequivocally support thrombectomy in patients with non-STEMI (NSTEMI). Methods: The TATORT-NSTEMI (Thrombus Aspiration in ThrOmbus containing culpRiT lesions in Non-ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction) trial is a prospective, controlled, multicenter, randomized, open-label trial enrolling 460 patients. The hypothesis is that, against a background of early revascularization, adjunctive thrombectomy leads to less microvascular obstruction (MO) compared with conventi...

Stem cell therapy for chronic ischaemic heart disease and congestive heart failure.
CONCLUSIONS: This systematic review and meta-analysis found moderate quality evidence that BMSC treatment improves LVEF. Unlike in trials where BMSC were administered following acute myocardial infarction (AMI), we found some evidence for a potential beneficial clinical effect in terms of mortality and performance status in the long term (after at least one year) in people who suffer from chronic IHD and heart failure, although the quality of evidence was low. Short term follow-up of culprit only revascularization versus total revascularization in primary percutaneous coronary intervention in patients with multivessel disease
Conclusion Both treatment strategies carry equivalent short term outcome among patients with STEMI treated with PPCI.

Outcome of patients admitted with acute coronary syndrome on palliative treatment: insights from the nationwide AMIS Plus Registry 1997-2014
Conclusions Patients with ACS treated palliatively were older, sicker, with more heart failure at admission and very high in-hospital mortality. While refraining from more active therapy may often constitute the most humane and appropriate approach, we think it is important to also evaluate these patients and include them in registries and outcome evaluations. Clinical trial number ClinicalTrials.gov Identifier: NCT01 305 785.

Prognostic impact of neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin and B-type natriuretic in patients with ST-elevation myocardial infarction treated by primary PCI: a prospective observational cohort study
Conclusions The measurement of NGAL together with the TIMI score results in a strong prognostic model for the 1-year mortality rate in patients with STEMI.

Clinical characteristics, management and 1-year outcomes of patients with acute coronary syndrome in Iran: the Iranian Project for Assessment of Coronary Events 2 (IPACE2)
Conclusions Our study showed that the composition of Iranian patients with ACS regarding the type of ACS is similar to that in developed European countries and is unlike that in developing countries of the Middle East and Africa. We found that our patients with ACS are treated with high levels of adherence to guideline-recommended in-hospital medications.
