Modulations of static and dynamic functional connectivity among brain networks by electroacupuncture in post-stroke aphasia
This study aimed to investigate the PSA-related effects of EA stimulation at HT5 and GB39 on neural processing. Thirty-five participants were recruited, including 19 patients with PSA and 16 healthy controls (HCs). Neuroanatomical correlates of macrostructural receptive abilities in narrative discourse in unilateral left hemisphere stroke: A behavioural and voxel-based morphometry study
CONCLUSIONS & IMPLICATIONS: The present results suggest that retelling and comprehension of auditory and written narratives are relatively well-preserved in individuals with a LH stroke without significant aphasia, but poorer than in HC. The findings replicate previous studies conducted in groups with higher levels of education and SES both at the behavioural and neural levels. Establishing reporting standards for participant characteristics in post-stroke aphasia research: An international e-Delphi exercise and consensus meeting

Communicative participation in goal-setting meetings for patients with aphasia after stroke. A study using patients' and healthcare professionals' self-ratings
CONCLUSION: Results from both PwA and controls imply that patients may need more support to be able to ask questions in meetings with HCPs. Aphasia severity is modulated by race and lesion size in chronic survivors: A retrospective study
CONCLUSION: We suggest two explanations for the difference between Black and White SWA in the relationship between lesion size and aphasia severity. First, the impact of disparities in access to rehabilitation after stroke may be more evident when a stroke is larger and causes significant aphasia. Additionally, an assessment bias in aphasia outcome measures may be more evident with increasing severity of aphasia.
