JAK2 V617F Mutation and Large Cerebral Artery Disease in Patients with Myeloproliferative Neoplasms
CONCLUSIONS: This study revealed a significant association between the JAK2 V617F mutation and LCAD in patients with MPNs. This suggests that the JAK2 V617F mutation may promote cerebrovascular atherosclerosis and could be very important in determining therapeutic strategies for patients with not only JAK2 V617F-mutated MPNs but also LCAD-related stroke.PMID:37344447 | DOI:10.5551/jat.64118

Prediction of Coronary Artery Disease Severity by Using CHA2DS2-VASC-HSF Score in Patients with ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction
In this study mean age of study population was 51.8±9.8, male patients were predominant (79.0%). Among the studied patients, highest percentage had history of smoking followed by hypertension, diabetes mellitus and family history of CAD in Group I patients. It was found that DM and family history of CAD and history of stroke/TIA were significantly higher in Group I than Group II. An increasing trend of SYNTAX score was observed according to the CHA₂DS₂-VASc-HSF score. SYNTAX score was significantly higher in CHA2DS2-VASc-HSF score ≥4 than CHA₂DS₂-VASc-HSF score <4 (26.3±6.3 vs. 12.1±7.7, p<0.001). Patien...

The Versatility of Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease Risk Score in Determination of Popliteal Artery Branches Patency in Computed Tomography Angiography
CONCLUSIONS: The 10-year ASCVD risks showed significant higher values in the greater than or equal to 50% stenosis group of popliteal, anterior tibial, and posterior tibial arteries. These findings can establish the further study on how ASCVD risks can be applied to predict the stenosis of these arteries and guide the rationale of preoperative leg CTA for FFF harvest.PMID:36733947 | PMC:PMC9886511 | DOI:10.1097/GOX.0000000000004791

REACHing conclusions on the external applicability of the THEMIS into clinical practice
The THEMIS Study (Effect of Ticagrelor on Health Outcomes in Diabetes Mellitus Patients) was a phase 3 randomized, double-blinded, placebo-controlled trial from 2014 to 2016. Patients with angiographically proven coronary artery disease (CAD) and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), but no prior history of myocardial infarction (MI) or stroke, were randomized 1:1 to either ticagrelor or placebo in addition to low-dose aspirin for a median follow-up of 39.9  months. The randomized population (n = 19,220) had a median age of 66years, 31.4% were women, and there was a high prevalence of concomitant hypertension, dyslipidemi...

Application of computed tomographic angiography and echocardiography in predicting left atrial appendage thrombosis in patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation
CONCLUSIONS: Both CTA and RT-3D-TEE had high predictive values for LAA thrombosis in atrial fibrillation patients.PMID:36383152 | DOI:10.5830/CVJA-2022-052
