Assessment of chronic bronchitis and risk factors in young adults: results from BAMSE
Conclusion Chronic bronchitis in young adults is associated with recurrent respiratory infections. Besides smoking, our results support the role of early-life exposures, such as air pollution and exclusive breastfeeding, for respiratory health later in life.

Clinical characteristics of the BREATHE cohort - a real-life study on patients with asthma and COPD.
Conclusions: The BREATHE study provides a unique database and biobank with clinical information and samples from 1403 real-life patients with asthma, COPD, and overlap representing different severities of the diseases. This research platform is highly relevant for disease phenotype- and biomarker studies aiming to describe a broad spectrum of obstructive airway diseases. PMID: 32284828 [PubMed]

The Study of Dried Ginger and Linggan Wuwei Jiangxin Decoction Treatment of Cold Asthma Rats Using GC –MS Based Metabolomics
Conclusion In this study, serum and urine metabolites identified by GC–MS and general pharmacodynamic evaluation (morphological observation, histopathology, inflammatory factors, and visceral indices) were used to compare the effects of GJ and LGWWJX decoctions on cold asthma. Significant metabolic abnormalities were observed for 37 metabolites (15 in serum, 22 in urine) in rats with cold asthma. These altered metabolites might be potential biomarkers or therapeutic targets during development of cold asthma. Furthermore, pathway analysis demonstrated that pathways associated with energy metabolism and oxidative str...
