Is your kid actin out? A series of six patients with inherited ARPC1B deficiency and review of the literature
CONCLUSION: ARPC1B deficiency has a variable and heterogeneous clinical spectrum, expanded by these cases to include keloid scars and Epstein-Barr virus chronic hepatitis. A novel deletion in exon 8 is shared by three unrelated families and might be the result of a founder effect.PMID:36708766 | DOI:10.1016/j.jaip.2022.12.045

Functional characterization of the p.(Gln195His) or Tainan and novel p.(Ser184Cys) or Toluca glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) gene natural variants identified through Mexican newborn screening for glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency
CONCLUSION: Our data suggest that G6PD "Tainan" and "Toluca" are potential Class II natural variants, which agrees with the absence of chronic nonspherocytic hemolytic anemia (CNSHA) in our patients. It remains to be determined whether these variants represent high-risk genetic factors for developing CNSHA, AHA, and/or NHB.PMID:36089067 | DOI:10.1016/j.clinbiochem.2022.08.012

Pre-pregnancy body mass index and gestational weight-gain predict maternal hemoglobin levels and are jointly associated with neonatal outcomes in a Mexican birth cohort
CONCLUSION: among OB women, excessive GWG was associated with having lower Hb levels in the third trimester. Newborns had higher scores in growth patterns related to adiposity from birth to 3 months old if mothers had normal Hb levels and OB.PMID:35916135 | DOI:10.20960/nh.03999
